Reader Favorites: What is your favorite Brand of Dairy Free Milk?

DiscussIt's been a while since we've done a Reader Favorites, and since this week it's all about the Drinks, I would love to hear your thoughts: What is your favorite type of dairy free milk - soy, rice, oat, hemp? If you have a favorite brand, let us know! I'm a big Rice Dream Rice Milk fan, as is obvious from the review of the Vanilla and Vanilla Hazelnut flavors.

Win: 2 persons who leave a comment will be RANDOMLY chosen to win coupons for Fiber One Chocolate Mocha Bars, Frosted Mini Wheats, Honey Kix Cereal (in 1) and Breyers Ice Cream (in 1). You have until Thursday, June 11, 2009 (11:59 PM) to be eligible for the prize pack.

Update. Winners are Anon who said, "ZenSoy cappuccino--I just happily slurp that stuff up straight out of the box." AND Mei from Dude, where's the stove? who said, "Costco's Soy Milk tastes surprisingly good. Just sweet enough for most uses, and robust (not too thin). Definitely it's a good deal - I think it's about $12 for 12 individual quart containers. Silk and Full Circle are good too."

Of course, we would still love to hear all your recommendations!

I really like No sugar added Almond Breeze. With only 40 calories per cup, this is a sure winner. I love adding it to my teas and in blended smoothies/puddings/protein shakes.

I also like Hood Fat Free milk, although it is NOT dairy free. It has only 45 calories per cup!!! How awesome is that! I can make an entire box of sugar free pudding, add two cups of this milk, and eat the whole thing for only 190 calories! wow!

Living Harvest hempmilk!! I even contributed a review for this magnificent product, right here on IATEAPIE, months ago :0)

I am in love with 8th Continent Light Vanilla Soymilk-perfect for teas, cereals, etc....

I second 8th Continent Light Vanilla Soymilk, which is the best and cheapest soymilk that I've tried. In all honesty though, I usually use lowfat cow's milk.

I usually get Soy Slender because it's sweetened with Splenda, but I am going to give 8th Continent Light a try--it has 1.5g less fat.

Costco's Soy Milk tastes surprisingly good. Just sweet enough for most uses, and robust (not too thin). Definitely it's a good deal - I think it's about $12 for 12 individual quart containers. Silk and Full Circle are good too.

I have tried several brands of soy milk, and keep coming back to 8th Continent Light Chocolate (I'm not a big fan of white milk anyway except with cookies or brownies and that's not healthy!!:) )

I love Silk chocolate soy milk!

I happen to LOVE the soy slender vanilla soymilk that is high in fiber and sweetened with Splenda. It also comes in chocolate and cappucino flavors but vanilla is my fave!

Blue Diamond Unsweetened Almond Breeze. Original if I'm adding flavored whey protein, vanilla or chocolate otherwise. I like the flavor better than soy and rice milk, and since it's unsweetened, I can make it as sweet as I want.

I love soy milk, but now I'm on an almond milk craze. It has calcium and all the other goodies. The low fat varieties (choc and vanilla) are really good!

Blue Diamond Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze is my favorite!! :D

I love the Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze!

Definitely the Silk Light Vanilla soy milk. Have it on my cereal and in my tea everyday! At only 80 calories per cup, it's a great substitute with a better flavor than natural soy milk.

Silk Light Vanilla and Chocolate!

My son (who's 4) has a dairy allergy and LOVES Rice Dream Supreme Chocolate Chai. It's his very own "special" chocolate milk. He even requests it on his cereal! : )

My absolute favorite is the Almond Dream's sugar-free plain milk, but I also love the 8th continent light soy milk, it's so tasty!

My favorite is the Blue Diamond Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze. When I can't find that, I buy Soy Slender Vanilla. I remember once trying a strawberry banana soy milk, which was delicious but higher in calories. I can't remember who makes it and haven't seen it in a while...

Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze for me. Love it in my oats and smoothies.

Haha, I like how you are giving away ice cream coupons on a dairy-free poll :)

Almond Breeze here ... unsweetened vanilla, chocolate or original.

Unsweetened Almond Breeze... Vanilla!

My absolute favorite dairy-free milk is So Delicious Coconut Milk Beverage (vanilla flavor)! It's creamy, rich, and tastes incredible! And my kids like it a whole lot more than soy, rice, almond, or hemp milk.

Silk Unsweetened Soymilk... the ones with sugar in them are too sweet for my cereal.

I used to be a loyal 8th Continent Light Vanilla Soymilk fan until they changed the container, and consequently, the taste. It began tasting alot more artificial and almost coconutty instead of vanilla in flavor. I now use Soy Slender Vanilla..delish :)

If I'm just using the milk as a complement, like in cereal or a recipe, I'll use Blue Diamond Unsweetened Almond Breeze, because it has only 40 calories per serving. If I'm just drinking it straight, then I go for the best taste and pick Silk soy milk in vanilla or chocolate!

I love Kroger brand Light Vanilla Soymilk. So inexpensive and delicious! It is almost as good if not better than the expensive Silk.

i like soy slender chocolate soy milk. 70 calories a cup and 4 grams of fiber! it's DELICIOUS!

ZenSoy cappuccino--I just happily slurp that stuff up straight out of the box.

Definitely the unsweetened (plain) Almond Breeze. Just wish it came in bigger cartons.

Living Harvest unsweetened hempmilk.

Unsweetened Silk Soymilk!

Hm..that's a toughie. For me it would be Almond Breeze's unsweetened almond milk.

Unsweetened Almond Breeze without a doubt!... any flavor!

I love any product from Almond Breeze! Mostly the unsweetened variety though.

Blue Diamond Unsweetened Vanilla is delicious, and the convenience of the shelf stable packaging is also a plus!

I like Soy Slender, especially the chocolate flavor.

Jackie- Are you sure Hood Fat Free is 45 per cup?? I thought it had 80 calories per cup.
My favorite, like many others, is def Almond Breeze Vanilla Unsweetened. The unsweetened chocolate is great too. You can't be the calories and it adds alot of flavor! yummmmy. I get it at Trader Joe's for $2

Not much experience with non-dairy but I'm phasing out regular milks. I totally recommend 8th Continent over Silk and Hood. Tried Soy Nice, which is new? Didn't like any of them. Thankfully I eventually found 8th Continent, otherwise I may still be drinking regular dairy milks.

I had been drinking soy milk for 6 years (liked Silk and the Breeze one, did not like Trader Joe's). I never really liked the taste of cow's milk in liquid form and I was happy to find soy when a roommate introduced it to me. However, I recently switched to almond milk (Blue Diamond, original) and like it even more.

Although Rice Milk was my first non-dairy love, I now use Kirkland Signature (costco) soy milk! I agree with an above poster that is just the right consistency--not too watery. :)

Blue Diamond Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze for sure!!!

I would have to go with regular light silk:)

I love Almond Breeze, unsweetened vanilla. YUM!! It is my fav...I use it in coffee, cereal, plain.

I also cast my vote for Blue Diamond Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze.

I'm with Cicilia. I vote for So Delicious Coconut Milk Beverage Vanilla flavor. It's fabulous!

I love 8Th Contintent Light Vanilla Soymilk or Almond Breeze Unsweetened Chocolate :-D

Pearl Vanilla Soymilk or Almond Breeze Vanilla... I used to drink the Silk Vanilla, but I always thought it had a bit of a weird taste. Reading through everyone's reviews though, I'm excited to go out and buy some Soy Slender :]
