Kashi GoLean Oatmeal Walnut Roll Bar
If you haven't tried Kasjhi GoLean Roll! Bars, I highly suggest you pick one of these up. They have been reviewed previously here, but at the time there were only 3 flavors available (Caramel Peanut, Chocolate Peanut, and Chocolate Turtle). There are now 2 more flavors: Fudge Sundae and Oatmeal Walnut, which is the variety I just finished eating and let me tell you, it was fantastic. It definitely met, as well as completely exceeded, my expectations.
Kashi says the GoLean Roll! bars contain slow-release carbs that "help balance blood sugar," and protein and fiber "help you stay satisfied." This particular flavor is described as "a chewy, oatmeal flavored center...surrounded by smooth chocolate fudge and then rolled in toasted almonds, crunchy soy crisps, and whole grains." The layout of the bar was as follows: an oatmeal center, fudgy shell, and soy crisp- and nut-sprinkled outer surface. In terms of taste, this bar is spot-on. It was like the chewier cousin of the standard chocolate chip cookie, with a wonderfully light and delicious cinnamon-y oatmeal flavor (strangely enough, cinnamon wasn't on the list of ingredients, but I swear I could taste it). The texture was chewy but not to the point of hurting your teeth, and the soy crisps on the outside added wonderful crunchiness. My only complaint is that the nuts were few and far between; the vast majority of crunchiness covering the bar consisted of soy crisps, not nuts. Regardless (and since I'm not a huge walnut fan myself), I didn't mourn the absence of surface-studding walnuts.
Each 55-gram Kashi GoLean Oatmeal Walnut Roll Bar provides 190 calories, 5 grams of fat, 1.5 grams of which is saturated fat (8% of the daily value), 250 mg sodium (10% of the DV), 12 grams of protein and 27 grams of carbohydrates which includes 6 grams of fiber (24% of the DV) and 13 grams of sugar, as well as a plethora of vitamins and minerals, including 20% of the RDA for calcium.
I picked up this bar for $1.99, and I felt that it was absolutely worth it. I will most definitely be buying this again (probably in bulk), and I look forward to trying the other flavors as well!

I love Kashi bars. I haven't however had the job of trying the roll bars. I will totally check these out
Kashi always seems consistent in producing great tasting, high quality products. I wouldn't doubt that this nutrition bar is supreme in that their cereals are nutritious and enjoyable. Some of my personal favorites include: Honey Sunshine (3/4 cup for 100 calories), Heart to Heart (3/4 cup for 110 calories), and Strawberry Fields (3/4 cup for 120 calories) - not quite as tasty as the others, but still provides a great crunch and a complement to any other combination of cereal. All in all, Kashi is a great company in that all of the products used are natural and still provide a great taste!
I can't have walnuts, but I'm interested in finding and trying the new fudge sundae roll!
that sounds great, and lower in calories than some of the otehr rolls!
Thanks Melissa for sharing your Kashi faves with us. I'm a huge fan of their Strawberry Fields cereal too..
My only complaint with these is that they are REALLY chewy and the topping falls off as you try to bite them!
I am a huge fan of their TLC bars which I buy in bulk at Sam's club. They are 140 calories and you can get peanut butter, trail mix, and honey. All super yummy
This is one of my absolute favorite bars! It reminds me of a Snickers!
These are my favorite bars EVER! I enjoy all of the flavors and they last me a pretty long time, cause they're pretty chewy.
Just ate the Kashi Oatmeal Walnut bar for the first time and absolutely love it! Plus, it is only 3 weight watcher points!!
