Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers Roasted Chicken Marsala
Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers was on sale at my local grocery store, so I decided to try one that I hadn't had the opportunity to try yet. I looked around, and the Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers Roasted Chicken Marsala looked delicious and healthy so I scooped it up. At first I thought the Marsala descriptor could be just fluff, but according to the ingredient list, there really is Marsala wine in the sauce, which is great for authenticity.
Healthy Choice describes this as having "big chunks of chicken tenderloin blend perfectly with penne pasta, asparagus, red peppers, and Marsala wine sauce." The Marsala sauce was good, but it wasn't very distinctive and just tasted like a regular gravy. The chicken, penne pasta, and green beans all turned out well, but I was especially impressed with how plump the green beans were. The sliced mushrooms that were embedded in the Marsala sauce seemed like a good idea, but they lacked the quality and freshness of the main components of the meal.
Each Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers Roasted Chicken Marsala meal provides 240 calories from 5 grams of fat, 1 gram of which is saturated (9% and 8% of the daily value), 12% of the DV for cholesterol (45 milligrams), 540 milligrams of sodium (23% DV), 17 grams of protein and 31 grams of carbohydrates, including 4 grams of dietary fiber (16% of the DV) and 5 grams of sugar (more details at the Healthy Choice website).
I paid $2.00 for this meal at Kroger, but it normally sells for $3.00. This meal made a good lunch, but it wasn't particularly memorable and not among my favorites. Among this meal's best nutritional qualities are the low fat content and high amount of fiber.

$2.00 for a mediocre isn't that bad at all, if you think about it.
