Breyers Overload Fried Ice Cream

Breyers Overload Fried Ice CreamFried ice cream doesn't sound very healthy at all, but the description of Breyers Overload! Fried Ice Cream on the packaging says, "cinnamon caramel flavored light ice cream with a honey caramel swirl & cinnamon sugar tostada pieces." I've never had real fried ice cream, but from what I understand, the ice cream is typically fried in a starchy shell. Obviously, the execution of this supermarket ice cream differs from the real thing, but I was still willing to give it a shot.

The ice cream base is excellent, very creamy with plenty of caramel flavor but very subtle, if any, flavor from the cinnamon. The Tostada pieces make this ice cream particularly unique, adding an extra dimension to the texture. They had a bit of a stale chew to them, but their presence was distinct nonetheless. I liked this ice cream, but the folks over at Snackerrific seemed to love it while at Onsecondscoop they did not.

Each ½ cup serving of Breyers Overload! Fried Ice Cream provides 140 calories and 4.5 grams of total fat including 2.5 grams of saturated fat (7% and 12% of the daily value), 10 milligrams of cholesterol (3% of the DV) and 95 milligrams of sodium (4% of the DV). There are 2 grams of protein and 23 grams of carbohydrates which includes 15 grams of sugar and no fiber.

A 1.5 quart container normally costs $5.79 at Kroger, but I got this one on sale for $2.99. I really appreciate unique ice cream flavors, and this one definitely delivers. Still, there are many other delicious 'light or low fat/ Slow Churned' ice creams are 90-120 calories per serving, like Breyers Double Churn French Chocolate Fat Free Ice Cream, and I like to save on calories where I can. So this might not make it into my shopping cart very often.

Fried ice cream, what a strange idea. I had no idea it was a real thing, though I was excited about the idea of cinnamon ice cream!

This is one that you need to eat soon after buying - the tostada pieces really get nasty after sitting for a while.

fried ice cream calories 140 does it accurate.........
