Better'n Peanut Butter
Better N' Peanut Butter ... really?! With such a strong sentiment, this was a must buy. Better N' Peanut Butter is a peanut butter alternative with 85% less fat and 40% less calories than regular peanut butter. There are also no refined sugars in this all natural spread.
The texture is pretty much exactly the same as your average peanut butter. It's smooth and spreads well. The taste is similar as well, but not exact, being slightly sweeter and not as nutty. Still, the taste is good and it makes a nice healthier alternative the the high fat, high calorie nut butters on the shelf.
Each 2 tablespoon serving of Better'n Peanut Butter provides 100 calories, 2.5 grams of total fat (4% of the daily value), 190 mg sodium (8% of the DV), 4 grams of protein and 13 grams of carbohydrates which includes only 2 grams of sugar and 2 grams of fiber.
I have used this in recipes to help lessen the calorie content of things like cookies and cupcakes. I really don't know which I prefer- this or regular peanut butter. They both offer nutritional benefits that the other doesn't - regular peanut butter has more protein but more fat and calories. This yummy spread has less calories and fat, but has more carbohydrates and not enough protein. I appreciate the qualities of both and Better'n Peanut Butter will definitely make it's way into my grocery cart in the future.

This tasted like a Reese's filling with soy undernotes to me. Not bad, but just not peanut butter.
The price is absurd, too - over five bucks for a 1 pound jar.
I thought this was gross and not like peanut butter. My friend felt the same way.
This stuff is inedible. It's a poor attempt at making something that is naturally healthy even more so, but failing miserably. I have found that Naturally More satisfies my need for health and taste. With less calories and fat and more protein than regular peanut butter, it's a real winner. Plus it has the added benefit of flax!
I am in recovery from anorexia and at my sickest I lived off of this stuff. I'd spread some on caramel rice cakes.
I don't like the taste of it alone but it was really delicious to me on the rice cakes. But that could be the eating disorder talking.
If you like Better'n Peanut Butter, you should try PB2 - it has even better nutritional specs and the flavour is head and shoulders above Better'n Peanut Butter!
