Quaker Cinnamon Sugar Multigrain Minis

Quaker Cinnamon Sugar Multigrain MinisQuaker Cinnamon Sugar Multigrain Minis should not be confused with Quaker Cinnamon, Sugar & Oats Morning Minis (which were previously reviewed) nor Quaker Mini Delights - having so many products with similar names makes me think Quaker has so many products - even they can't keep track of what is in their product line. The fact that the Multigrain Minis also NOT listed on Quaker's website also seems to support my conclusion. Nevertheless, I spotted them in my local grocery store, and decided to give these "rice cake look-alikes" a chance.

From the packaging and location in the supermarket, the Quaker Cinnamon Sugar Multigrain Minis look like regular rice cakes, however, they are made from whole grain corn, oats, and brown rice and boast some nutritional benefit. These Multigrain Minis have the typical diameter of a mini rice cake although they are much flatter. I enjoyed the crunchy texture, and noticed that they don't produce as many crumbs as rice cakes. The cinnamon sugar combination provides a sharp but mellow sweetness for the minis, which I must say I thoroughly enjoyed. They were so good that it was hard to eat just one serving.

One serving of Quaker Cinnamon Sugar Multigrain Minis consists of 9 cakes (15 grams) and provides 60 calories, 1 gram of fat, and 90 milligrams of sodium (4% DV). Each serving has 12 grams of carbohydrates, including 1 gram of dietary fiber, and 1 gram of protein. Not bad at all!

A 3.52 ounce bag with about 7 servings was on sale at Kroger for $1.00, but the regular price is more than twice that. They are a tasty and fairly low calorie snack that I have bought several times when they are on sale. I really enjoy eating these when I feel a "sweet tooth attack" coming on. They are nowhere near the decadent chocolatey fix I might have once reached for - but then again, they are nowhere near as high in calories and fat either.

I love mini rice cakes! I sometimes dip them in my sugar free pudding. I have enjoyed many flavors and you are right that Quaker has lost track of all the types.

Apparently there are other flavors of the multigrain ones, but I've never seen them.

I still prefer soy crisps, however, YUM!
