Fuze Empower Pomegranate Acai Berry Slenderize

Fuze Empower Pomegranate Acai Berry SlenderizeWith a name like "Empower," I figured the new Fuze Pomegranate Acai Berry Slenderize beverage must be good. The fact that money from the purchase goes to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure is an added bonus. This drink promises big things for an 18.5-ounce beverage - an "equal antioxidant capacity as 1 serving of vegetables per bottle, with polyphenols, chromium, vitamin C, super citrimax, and L-carnitine" (all of which are touted as providing health benefits like protecting against free radicals and upping energy.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect from the "pomegranate acai berry" flavor. I've had pomegranates before, but I've never tried acai berries (despite their myriad purported health benefits). Maybe this drink tastes like acai, but it definitely doesn't taste much like pomegranates. What it does taste like, though, is overpoweringly sweet sugar water. Not good! I finished the bottle only because I was incredibly thirsty.

An 8-ounce serving of Fuze Empower Pomegranate Acai Berry Slenderize provides 10 calories, 2 grams of sugar and 25% of the daily RDA for vitamin A, 100% for vitamin C, 25% for vitamin E, and 15% for chromium. They use the acesulfame-K and sucralose as the sweeteners - along with fruit juice concentrate (ingredients list can be seen here).

The price tag was $2.29 (quite hefty, if you ask me!) and although the nutrition facts are something out of a dieters dreams, the taste just did not cut it for me, and I won't be buying this again. For a better-tasting refreshment, I'll stick with something like Diet Lipton Green Tea with Citrus.

Agreed - some of their stuff is pretty good (Stawberry Melon for instance), but I found this one particularly lackluster. I found your site through a MizFit post and I'm so glad I did - it's a wonderful resource!

I tried the pomegranate/acai berry & the cranberry/raspberry varieties. I may become addicted they are so yummy. 20 calories & 2 gms sugar per 18 oz bottle. And it was on sale for 79 cents.
