DanActive Immunity Light Probiotic Drink

DanActive Immunity LightI am always looking for a nice boost of vitamins and "feel good" foods to combat the effects that the change in seasons has on my immune system. As a regular customer of Dannon Yogurts, I decided to give DanActive Immunity Light Probiotic Drinks a try. Dannon says DanActive is supposed to "help strengthen your body's defenses" and although I cannot say whether it works or not (I see they are being sued for making these "health" allegations), I can say that the taste of these little 3.1 ounce gems left a lot to be desired.

The directions indicate that they should be shaken before consumed, so I thought that they might be similar to a smoothie. In reality, the consistency was watery, and did not satisfy in the least bit. The flavor I purchased was mixed berry, which boasted a mix of strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries. It did mildly taste like strawberry milk, but the chalky aftertaste erased any pleasure from the berry taste.

Each 3.1 fluid ounce container of DanActive Immunity Light Probiotic Drink provides 35 calories, no fat, 6 grams of total carbohydrates including 1 gram of fiber and 3 grams of carbohydrates as well as 2 grams protein. Also included are 10% of the RDA for calcium, riboflavin, and 125 mg of potassium.

In order to give the product a fair try, I drank 2 of the 4 bottles that come in a pack, and then used the rest to add some creaminess to my morning oats, where it fared just slightly better. Needless to say, I will not be purchasing them again, even though the price was tempting. For $1.39 (after a $1.00 off coupon I got from the newspaper), these little shots are quite a deal, but sadly, are not worth any price. Sorry Dannon, in my opinion, it might be wiser to just stick to yogurt!
