Lean Cuisine Shrimp Alfredo
Alfredo sauce usually isn't that healthy with all that cream, but Lean Cuisine found a way to incorporate just enough in their Lean Cuisine Shrimp Alfredo dish, without breaking the calorie bank. Actually, I was more interested in the shrimp, pasta, and vegetables than I was in the Alfredo sauce, but I was willing to give it a try.
After the dish was microwaved and ready to eat, I was pleased with the texture of the shrimp and the vegetables, which consisted of broccoli and peas. The linguini pasta was also good, but there didn't seem to be that much of it. The Alfredo sauce was a bit thin and watery, plus there was just too much of the sauce especially when some of it could have been replaced with more pasta. Still, the taste of the entire dish was enjoyable and certainly worth the $2.20 I paid for it.
One package of Lean Cuisine Shrimp Alfredo has 260 calories, 5 grams of total fat, 2 grams of which are saturated (8% and 10% of the daily value), and there are 60 milligrams of cholesterol (20% of the DV). Because of the shrimp, there are also 70 milligrams of omega-3 fatty acids (43% of the DV), which can be beneficial for a heart-healthy diet. There is also 590 milligrams of sodium (25% DV), 18 grams of protein and 36 grams of carbohydrates which includes 3 grams of dietary fiber and 5 grams of sugar.
AS I mentioned before, I paid $2.20 for this entree - sale price at Kroger. I really liked the taste and nutritional benefit of the shrimp and veggies, but the alfredo sauce and pasta could have been improved. I wouldn't mind eating the Lean Cuisine Shrimp Alfredo again, but I don't consider this dish one of my frozen food favorites.
