Kashi TLC Pumpkin Pie Fruit & Grain Bar
Since there was recently a massive recall of products containing peanut butter, a lot of which were nutrition bars, I took it as a chance to try some new flavors. When I saw a box of Kashi TLC Fruit & Grain Bars in a Pumpkin Pie flavor sitting on the shelf for the first time today, I scooped it quick time without even looking at the price, although luckily, a box of 6 bars only cost $2.69. I love pumpkin (hello Libby's Canned Pumpkin).
After unwrapping my new found creation, I realized that each Kashi Pumpkin Pie Bar seemed a little smaller than some of Kashi's other fruit bars (indeed it looks like the Fruit & Grain bars weigh a little less than Kashi TLC Chewy Granola bars), but it smelled delicious. The base of the bar is a combination of rolled oats and Kashi's seven whole grains & sesame blend flour. It is slightly dry on its own, but when combined with the sweet gooey pumpkin layered on top and the sprinkling of pecan bits, my mouth experienced all kinds of pleasant sensations. The sweet pumpkin layer of the bar is dotted with pecans and mixed with caramel and a gelatin that leads to a pumpkin flavor is extremely robust. The vibrant flavor evolves from a combination of cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger within a blend of pumpkin and soft fruit. Delicious
!
Each 32 gram Kashi TLC Pumpkin Pie Fruit & Grain Bar provides 120 calories, 3 grams of total fat (5% of the RDA), no saturated fat, 50 mg of sodium (2% of the RDA), 4 grams of fiber (16% of the RDA), 8 grams of sugar, 4 grams of protein and 6% of the RDA for Iron. The ingredient list is somewhat longer than you would expect of Kashi (probably from the many layers that make up the bar).
Thanks for the added fiber to my diet Kashi, because I will most definitely be purchasing Kashi TLC Fruit & Grain Pumpkin Pie Bars again. They certainly did not taste like a slice of fresh baked pumpkin pie, but the pumpkin flavor was prominent and the bar was delicious. One thing to note though is that this bar does not travel well. Since the gooey pumpkin layer is not hard, after the bar has been in your bag for a few hours, it will be a bit messier to eat and not quite as pretty (but the taste is still fabulous).

These are delicious and so are the raspberry chocolate!

I have a box of these sitting in the pantry. Need to try them out ASAP.
These are great, but I disagree with Marisa in regards to the raspberry chocolate being delicious. It was just barely palatable with a taste more a kin to medicine than a chocolate raspberry anything.
I thought these and the raspberry bars were both weird. The bottom was dry and the coating had an odd texture.
i didn't like this
i like the TLC ones way better. (honey almond flax or trail mix)
the topping was weird tasting and too sweet for me. i liked how it had walnuts though..
This is one of the best cereal/granola bars you can buy I eat them all the time. I'd like to know where the reviewer snagged a box of them for $2.69 though! Cheapest I have seen them is 3 bucks at Walmart. Kashi makes some great bars all around.
