Kahiki Naturals Vegetable Egg Rolls

Kahiki Naturals Vegetable Egg RollsKahiki sent me their Kahiki Naturals Vegetable Egg Rolls to try. On the Kahiki blog written by Tim Tsao, VP Sales and Marketing, they say they are better than the competition, so you know I wanted to know if they really deserved bragging rights. They do!

Kahiki Naturals Vegetable Egg Rolls is "an all-vegetarian blend of cabbage and carrot in a crispy wheat and flaxseed egg roll wrapper with sweet & sour dipping sauce included." Each package contains 3 egg rolls. They can be made in the microwave, which is what I did, or in a conventional oven. Even microwaved, the egg rolls are delicious. The wrapper is crispy and the veggies taste light and fresh - I didn't even use the sweet and sour sauce that comes included. The ingredients for the filling start with cabbage & carrots so you know Kahiki didn't plump this up with filler. I reached for a 2nd one and ate it slower than the first one, which I tore threw because it was so good! After that I was full since each egg roll is only 120 calories, I wouldn't have felt too guilty reaching for the 3rd one.

As I mentioned, each Kahiki Naturals Vegetable Egg Roll (85 grams) provides 120 calories, 4 grams of total fat (6% of the daily value), which includes 3 grams of saturated fat (3% of the DV), no trans fat or cholesterol, a disappointing 23% of the DV for sodium (550 mg), 3 grams of protein and 20 grams of carbohydrates which includes 2 grams of fiber (8% of the DV) and 3 grams of sugars.

The ingredients list really reflects 100% natural ingredients, no artificial additives or colors and no preservatives. Kahiki says their "Naturals" line reflects "lower sodium" but that is one part I would have to disagree with - it is not really significantly lower than Lean Cuisine Vegetable Egg Rolls which has 26% of the DV for sodium (and is about 2x the size).

The suggested retail price for Kahiki Naturals Vegetable Egg Rolls is $4.99, so they aren't cheap, but you can sign up for coupons on the Kahiki website. They are delicious and I will definitely be buying these again as a nice addition to my lunch menu.

I have never seen these but they look great!

Sometimes I have a hard time trusting the nutritional info on egg rolls like this. Often they are fried but the oil isnt taken into account when calculating the NI. Did these seem oily and too good to be true?

This is absolutely delicious! Great to find it here!

@ Alison: He mentions on the Kahiki blog the reduction of time spent in the fryer which leads to less oil and fewer calories. I would take it that means these egg rolls aren't oily.

These look yummy! -adds to grocery list-

Hi! I noticed that my website isn't appearing well just in case you want to read what I think about food being the food buff that I also am. Cheers!

I just wanted to say that you should take he coupon offers off the internet that have expired. I have bought your meal before and really enjyed it, I did not enjoy spending time on the internet looking for coupons and finding they were expired.
