Jay Robb's Whey Protein Powder

Jay Robb Protein PowderOften times, protein powders can be gritty, clumpy, too sweet, not sweet enough, too thick, or too watery. Some cause gas and bloating, while others tend to leave you hungry-almost defeating their purpose. I would like to consider myself an expert when it comes to shakes and smoothies (my blender would second that opinion and my past health food store jobs were working the juice bar). Needless to say, I have made MANY protein shakes and have samples MANY protein powders.

My newest obsession is Jay Robb's Whey Protein Powder. Sweetened with Stevia and made from cows that haven't been treated with rBGH, this stuff is delicious! It mixes instantly and creates such a creamy shake, you almost forget it is good for you. Being a protein shake addict, I have tried all the flavors by Jay Robb's: Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Tropical Dreamsicle (think orange and cream), and Pina Colada. All of them were very good, with excellent texture but vanilla and chocolate are my favorites.

Each 30 gram serving provide 110 calories, no fat or sugar, 1 gram of carbohydrates and 25 grams of pure protein. Besides supplying your body with much needed protein, Jay Robb's Whey Protein provides "all the Essential and Branched Chain Amino Acids, plus all other naturally occurring amino acids." The ingredients in this protein is short and sweet: cold-processed cross-flow micro filtered whey protein isolate, natural flavor, xanthan gum, lecithin, stevia.

This stuff is amazing and equally amazing for you! I purchased single serving packs of this for $2.99 at my local health food store. You can also order online from Jay Robb's website or Amazon.com
(12 ounce container for $23.75). Yes, this may be a little pricey for a single serving of protein, but the high health benefits make up for the high price! I am definitely hooked.

The ingredients list looks good! I am always weary of protein powder. Thanks!

I live in Chicago too and was wondering where you purchased the samples. I don't want to wait for shipping so I'd rather pick it up locally. Would you be able to tell me where you purchased it. Thanks so much

I haven't really gotten in to protein powder, but I'm trying to focus on eating more protein so maybe I should give it a second thought. The nutrition info for this one looks awesome. Thanks for the review!

I buy Jay Robb's protein at my local Kroget in the health and natural foods section. I also pay a few dollars less than it sells for on the website.

Hi Sarah,
I read your review and I found the Jay Robb drink to be very sweet and clumpy. It upsets me too because this one is a no-brainer--a ton of protein without all the extra stuff.
I was wondering if in your travels you have come across a completely unsweetened protein drink. I must be sweet intolerant because it literally hurts my teeth to drink these things. I tried the sample version of Jay Robb's Vanilla Whey Protein drink.

Rhonda, if you want a healthy protien source with no sweetners you should try Garden of Life Raw Protein. I blend it up with fruit in the mornings and I love it.
