Weight Watchers Smart Ones Teriyaki Chicken & Vegetables

Weight Watchers Smart Ones Teriyaki Chicken and VegetablesIn the past, I have not had very good luck with the Weight Watchers Smart Ones series of frozen dinners. Of the ones I have tried, they had too much sodium and were not very tasty or satisfying, and yet I was still interested when I saw an entree I had never seen before: Weight Watchers Smart Ones Teriyaki Chicken & Vegetables.

Maybe I set the bar too low, but I was actually pleasantly surprised by the product. I really liked the selection of vegetables, particularly the water chestnuts, and the simple sauce was quite tasty. The textures of the rice and chicken were just fine. Aesthetically, it was unusual to see the striking difference between the dark brown glaze on the surface of the chicken and the lighter hue inside each chunk of chicken, but the chicken had a good taste.

One package of Weight Watchers Smart Ones Teriyaki Chicken & Vegetables contains 230 calories and 2.5 grams of total fat, 0.5 grams of which are saturated. There are 25 milligrams of cholesterol and a whopping 710 milligrams of sodium (30% of the daily value) in the entree. There are also 14 grams of protein and 39 grams of carbohydrates, which include 3 grams of dietary fiber and 6 grams of sugar. Of the vitamins and minerals, this meal provides 30% of the DV for vitamin A and 20% for vitamin C.

This Weight Watchers entree cost me $3.24 (purchased from Target). Tastewise, I liked this dish quite a bit and it has good nutritional stats for the most part, but there is too much sodium. Though this dish is not necessarily among my overall top picks for frozen meals, Weight Watchers Smart Ones Teriyaki Chicken & Vegetables is one of the best among the Weight Watchers Smart Ones line of frozen meals.
