Lifesavers Sugar Free Candy

Sugar Free LifesaversMy dietary weakness is sweets. I love 'em all - candy, chocolate, cookies, brownies ... you name it, I love it! But we all know that eating too much sugar is just no good, so I sample in moderation and look for brands that have good sugar free varieties. I came across Sugar Free Lifesavers at Wal-Mart for $2.29 and I knew that I had to try them.

Right after I bought them at that self checkout counter, I was already trying to decide which flavor to try first - Cherry, Watermelon, Raspberry, Pineapple and Orange flavors come individually wrapped in the bag. I just wanted to try them all, all at once! But my first pick was the Pineapple. When I put it in my mouth it wasn't exactly what I expect at all ... it was a lot better! The flavor of the pineapple was quite strong and I could even taste a little coconut in it, almost like a pina colada. I almost couldn't even tell it was sugar free. I usually love to crunch my candy, but since the flavor was so strong, my mouth would almost feel a little sore (like the feeling when you have too much pineapple). Otherwise these candies are perfect.

All the flavors were really good and each serving of 4 piecesonly has 30 calories and 14 grams of carbohydrates which includes13 grams of sugar alcohols. That's a lot of sugar alcohols per serving, so heed the warning of "a laxative effect" if you consume too many. Luckily for me, I read the label and that didn't happen.

This is totally worth buying and stocking up on. They are also available online at Amazon.com ($18.22 for a 12 pack)

I hear you on having a sweet tooth! These are great!

I’m so glad I’m almost done the set, man… because I have a roll of Lifesavers in my pocket, and pineapple is next!
