This week it is all about Ice cream, after all
July is National Ice cream Month. Check out all our
Reviews of Ice cream of the low fat variety of course.
Try a flavor you haven't tried before.
Each spritz of the sweetener is equivalent to 1 tsp of sweet stuff, and two sprays is like adding a whole Splenda packet. I added this to toast (with butter spray and cinnamon) and popcorn as well, and I could detect no off flavors. Each cute spray bottle hold 170 sprays (zero calories per spray). I got my sample free from the website (but that offer is finished now). It retails for $6.95. Looking around the internet, it seems this version of the sweetener has received mixed reviews - some people can't imagine why you would want it in a spray, and others love it. I'm in the latter camp. I like that I can get a sweetener in another form - although I can't imagine myself toting this around just in case of a "sweetener emergency" - just don't think that will ever happen. Taste:

Fitness Surfer said: Hu? I'd rather tote around a little packet, or skip the sugar entirely. I've been trying to cut out refined sugars, and artificial sweeteners, or at least keep them to a minimum. A Spray?..what would you spray it on? Hu?

Kaisercloud said: LOL How retarded would you look carrying this around and squirting it on stuff in public. People will do anything to get their sugar fix. Enjoy your chemicals

Stephanie said: Splenda is 0 calories because your body can't digest it -- it's that synthetic. Kind of creepy to be eating something that you actually can't digest, no?

Tanya said: @stephanie there are lots of 'natural' things (like some forms of fiber) that your body doesn't digest.

stephanie said: But Splenda isn't natural - that's my point. It's synthetically created...Fiber's undigestability helps it bulk up your stool; it has a great evolutionary purpose.

Wolf Goettin said: Because there's no factual reason not to. If you don't like to use sweeteners and think they're evil, fine. But personally, I use them - I like sweet things, and since they have few calories I can enjoy my sweet things without adding the calories sugar contains. I've had no ill effects, and I've been using them for years.

Cereal said: Artificial sugar in a spray is a interesting concept ,but I wonder if this is their answer to new competition from the likes of Stevia based products. Expanding their product line can give them revenue in areas where there is currently no competition. Which is definitely a good thing, but this also shows that they view the new products as enough of a threat that they would need to take these sort of risks. Made even more risky due to the economic troubles that we're currently going through.

SuseM said: Splenda- sucralose- made me quite ill. As thousands of others have reported ( easy to find if you search the internet) my use of sucralose products as part of the Atkins diet was causing horrible joint pain and weakness. As I became sicker and less able to walk, I continued ingesting it, unaware of what could be causing my problems. Even my doctor didn't know. The joint supplement I began taking contained sucralose, and I began to get worse, and was now unable to walk. Now, 13 days off of sucralose, I am 90% back to normal and able to walk with only a bit of joint pain. Do yourselves a favor, and use something natural like Stevia.

I would prefer the spray as well. The crystals are often mixed with starch to make them easily handled, but can ruin a recipe.
