Lean Cuisine Grilled Chicken Primavera

Lean Cuisine Grilled Chicken PrimaveraOftentimes to me, frozen dinners are over-sauced to present a palatable picture, but I'm a food purist who prefers good taste to come from simplicity. When I saw the picture on this box of Lean Cuisine Grilled Chicken Primavera, I thought to myself, "Wow, that looks so fresh!" Apparently, pasta primavera is by definition a pasta focused on fresh vegetables, so the name is really appropriate for this appetizing dish.

When the entree was microwaved and ready to go, I was really impressed by how distinctly fresh the broccoli, asparagus, and tomatoes looked and tasted amidst the pasta and the garlic sauce. In fact, the box says that the entree has twice the veggies as the average Lean Cuisine entree. Somehow the garlic sauce was just the right amount to lightly coat everything without being excessive, and though the vermicelli was whole grain, I couldn't tell the difference. Unfortunately, the chicken was not very memorable, but there were so many other great things about this entree that this was a very minor issue.

The entire Lean Cuisine Grilled Chicken Primavera only has 220 calories with 5 grams of total fat which includes 1.5 grams saturated (both are 8% of the daily value), 25% of the daily value for sodium (610mg sodium), 18 grams of protein and 24 grams of carbohydrates, 5 grams of which are dietary fiber (20% of the D) and 6 grams of sugars. Vitamin A, calcium, and and iron are 10% of the DV and there is 60% for vitamin C.

I bought this entree on sale for $2.20 at Kroger, which was a pretty good deal. The vegetables were head and shoulders above the norm with their incredibly fresh taste and pleasing appearance. Overall, it was a very satisfying frozen meal, and I will definitely be buying it again.

This is one of my favorites! I love to cook pasta dishes like this in the summer when heavy sauces become totally unappealing. This is a pretty good representation of what I cook.

I agree, this is one of my favorites!! Excellent flavor! :-)
