This week it is all about Ice cream, after all
July is National Ice cream Month. Check out all our
Reviews of Ice cream of the low fat variety of course.
Try a flavor you haven't tried before.
Gone is the weird 'water' that pooled around the top of my last tub. Yes, the artificial yellow coloring is still the same, but I can look past that. The flavor seemed much different - in a good way. This butter spread seemed thicker and the butter flavor seemed more pronounced, and more salty than last time (not overly so, but in a good way). It was actually pretty similar in taste to real butter. Looking at the packaging, I noticed that the packaging was also different. This new tub has a slightly different label than I remember. Maybe they reformulated their product along with the new packaging (although there was no marketing that stated this). I am envious of the $1.50 price tag from the last review as this cost me $3.00! But let me tell you, this 5 calorie wonder was worth every penny. I am now a fan. I am so glad I decided to give this product another shot. I am dreaming of all the things I can now dip into my 5 calorie tub of wonder! Imagine the possibilities! And yes, I know that the ingredients are ... everything was made in a lab I'm sure, but this is something I'm willing to put up with in a condiment. Taste:

Emily said: I actually calculated the ICBINB spray and did the math against the tub, comparing the two. I'd have to redo it to figure out the fat per serving, but I remember it came to 1 calorie per spray. Does this mean the fat free tub will be returning? I know it's been gone for a LONG time, I think a good few years, and it used to be my staple replacement for butter, and I never had a problem with it in baking. If I could get my hands on it again, I would!

Chelle said: I haven't tried it.I don't concentrate a whole lot of calories/fat but its something I would consider trying - though really I don't use very much butter in what I cook that I think it would make a significant difference if I used it or not. |

My most recent sampling of this product was about 2 months ago, and it was a second round trial out of desperation. The only reason I even gave it a second chance was because my local grogery store was out of my staple 5 calorie Fat Free Promise Spread. At the time, ICBINB Fat Free did not hold a candle to Promise's superb taste. I am willing to give ICBINB one more chance in hopes that they've finally got it right, but it will take HUGE things for it to nudge out Fat Free Promise from the top spot!
