Healthy Choice Fire Roasted Tomato Chicken
Healthy Choice describes the Fire Roasted Tomato Chicken meal as having chicken tenderloins in roasted tomato sauce, whole grain penne, vegetables and apple cranberry crisp - which is more like small chunks of apple in syrupy sweet syrup.
It looks like Healthy Choice is making a change to it's packaging and quietly introducing new products. I don't see any hint of this meal on their website, nor anything about the new packaging, but I'm sure they'll make an announcement soon. And when it's available in your area, do not let this one pass you by. The sauce and the penne are delicious. The chicken chunks are big, tender, but take on the flavor of the sauce. The vegetables were a meddley of brocolli, carrots and red peppers and were okay - not stellar, but still good. The only drawback for me was the apple cranberry crisp. I suppose Healthy Choice wants us to have a complete meal including dessert, but the apple in syrup really does nothing for me. The cranberry was almost non-existent and not even worth mentioning. I must say though that I picked out and ate the pieces of apples and they were surprisingly firm and good.

This meal was on sale at Stop & Shop for $2.00 (regular $3.50) and it was definitely worth it - filling and delicious.

Whoa, a good Healthy Choice? I tend to think their meals suck! Maybe I'll just skip out on the dessert and eat something else instead.
