Hershey's Mint Milk Chocolate Sticks

Hersheys Mint Milk Chocolate SticksI had seen Hershey Sticks for sometime now, but even though I love chocolate I had never really been interested to try these, as I was thinking that they just wouldn't be able to satisfy me. But the last time I was at Wal-mart they were 2-for-1 so I decided to give the Mint Milk Chocolate type a try.

One stick weighs 11 grams and is about 4 1/2 inches long. The box comes with 9 sticks which are individually wrapped. I thought overall the taste was really good. They are sweet but not too sweet, rich and with a subtle minty flavor. Personally, I want my mint chocolates to have a more strong, tingly, minty flavor to them though. The attempt at portion control is commended, but eating just 1 is not enough to satisfy a serious choc-o-holic's cravings.

Each Hershey Mint Milk Chocolate Sticks provides only 60 calories, 3.5 grams of total fat (5% of the RDA) which includes 2 grams of saturated fat (10% of the RDA), 15 mg of sodium (1% of the RDA) and 6 grams of sugar. The ingredients are the standard sugar, chocolate, cocoa butter, etc. However, the second to last ingredient is artificial flavor, which is a little bit of a turn off.

Amazon.com has 12 packs of Hershey's Special Dark Sticks, with 9 sticks each, for $20.35, which makes each box about $1.76. I think this is a perfect product for people who might be in the mood for something sweet occasionally. But the portion is really small, so if you are having a serious chocolate craving, better get your fix with something else. Some suggestions - Weight Watchers Giant Chocolate Cookies and Cream Ice Cream Bar or Clif Kid Organic Chocolate Chip Z Bars.

This is perfect for me and that’s a great deal. I’ve been using 5 M&M’s here and there at the end of those long days to help lighten the load.

These would also make perfect gifts or stocking stuffers. Once I’m out of M&M’s I may even switch over.

Lately, I have a cup of herbal tea to calm me down and it cuts back all calories. I’m not always that good =) Thanks for sharing.
