Dreyer's Light Slow Churned Eggnog Ice Cream

Dreyer's Light Slow Churned Eggnog IceCreamEvery Christmas season, Dreyer's produces some tasty Limited Edition Ice Cream flavors. This year, it's Peppermint, Apple Pie & Slow Churned Egg Nogg. I love eggnog, and it's hard to resist the seasonal temptation. Create ice cream with this sinful pleasure, and you've got the potential for a delightful diet derailment. Dreyer's, however, has decided to make a Light ice cream of this holiday treat. Considering what eggnog is traditionally made from, how could a light ice cream version of it be good?

I don't know how they did it, but this ice cream is superb! It has all of the classical taste of eggnog, including distinct but not overwhelming nutmeg and rum flavors. It's sweeter than just straight eggnog, but isn't as sweet as most vanillas. The texture is smooth as silk and creamy as ...well, cream. I cannot emphasize how much I adored this ice cream.

One 1/2 cup serving of Dreyer's Light Eggnog Ice Cream contains 110 calories, 3 grams of total fat, of which 1.5 grams is saturated, 2 grams of protein and 18 grams of carbohydrates which includes 13 grams of sugar. This is also gluten free, nut free and Kosher.

I bought a 1.5 qtuar container for $3.50, which is reasonable, if not uber cheap. The hardest thing to do with this ice cream is to resist plopping yourself down and eating it all at once - a 1/2 cup serving is not much at all. But since this has lower calories, fat and sugar than regular ice cream, with just as much deliciousness, I would definitely recommend that you get this while you can.

I liked it too, and I'm pretty neutral when it comes to egg nog so I was pleasantly surprised by how good it tasted.

I loved this so much!!! It tasted so decadent and truly like eggnog, only better :]
