Ben & Jerry's Light Strawberries & Cream Ice Cream
If there's one thing most people love it's creamy decadent ice cream! Ben & Jerry's is one of my favorite brands but I must admit that they are certainly not diet-friendly. For example, one 1/2 cup serving of their top-selling Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia has 47% of the recommended daily amount of saturated fat and 21% of the RDA for total fat. Thank goodness Ben & Jerry's came out with a "Light" line. Flavors include Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Phish Food, Raspberry Chocolate Chunk and Strawberries & Cream, which is the flavor I tried.
This ice cream is surprisingly creamy and delicious. There are chunks of strawberries mixed with strawberries swirls and a fabulous taste of cream. I read a few reviews about the other Ben & Jerry's Light flavors, and noticed that some people were calling them "yogurt". I want to be clear - this flavor does not have the texture of yogurt at all. It is as smooth and creamy as their original line.
Each 1/2 cup (96 gram) serving of Ben & Jerry's Light Strawberries & Cream Ice Cream provides 150 calories, 3.5 grams of total fat (6% of the recommended daily amount), 2.5 grams of saturated fat (12% of the RDA), 50 mg of sodium (2% of RDA), 3 grams of protein and 29 grams of total carbohydrates of which 2 grams come from fiber and 24 grams of sugar.
B & J ice creams are also All Natural. The ingredients are simply Skim Milk, Liquid Sugar, Strawberries, Cream, Sugar, Water, Egg Yolks, Inulin, Maltodextrin, Rice Starch, Pectin, Lemon Juice Concentrate, Guar Gum, Xanthan Gum, Elderberry Juice (For Color). If you love ice cream but are afraid to add a few inches to your waistline, fear no more! This ice cream is so tasty that you won't have a problem indulging once in a while.

Sounds delicious. I would have never found it on my own (I close my eyes when I look at B&J's stuff usually since it is so tempting)!. :)
Maybe the confusion with the yogurt thing is the fact Ben and Jerry's has a "light ice cream" as well as a "low-fat frozen yogurt" (which has better nutritional info), but they are two different things.
Speaking of the Frozen yogurt...
My favorite icecream of theirs is Phish Food. I was delighted that they made a "Light" version of it, even though the stats aren't that much better. And then on the website I've seen there's actually a Phish Food frozen yogurt with even better stats. I've looked for it everywhere but other than on the site it seems to be non-existent. Is that something they only have in their shops?
I found a coupon for $3 off a pint of Ben and Jerry's. Just thought I would pass it on. Happy Holidays
