Walden Farms Calorie Free Caramel Dip

Walden Farms Calorie Free Caramel DipHave you tried any of the calorie-free products from Walden Farms? They focus on sales and distribution of specialty sauces featuring no carbohydrates, no sugar, no fat, no cholesterol and no calories. I have tried several of their products and I must say I've yet to find something that I like. I was hoping this Walden Farms Calorie Free Caramel Dip would be the answer to my prayers, but unfortunately I was once more left disappointed.

After seeing how thick the caramel looked, I was willing to give it a shot. I must admit I was kind of excited but that feeling didn't last too long. I opened it and scoop a spoonful of caramel dip, the texture looked nice, creamy and thick but unfortunately that was all that was good in this product. The taste was bland, kind of sweet, but very far from resembling a delicious caramel flavor. After eating it, I experienced an awful, kind of weird and bitter after taste. Believe me when I tell you that you really don't want to find out for yourself, just stay away from it!

This product is calorie-free, carb free, fat free, sugar free and I must add flavor free. A 12 ounce bottle is sold on Amazon.com
for $5.00, but I wouldn't recommend it. I'll keep searching for a lower-calorie option that doesn't have to sacrifice that much flavor to be these nutritionally enticing. Could someone please recommend any Walden Farms products that they have enjoyed?!

I liked their sugar free maple syrup; it's a little runny ,but tastes good in oatmeal.

What type of artificial sweetener is in these? An ingredients list would be great.

Bitter aftertaste? I wonder if they used Stevia...

The maple syrup is great, as is the blueberry jam. Other than that, stay away!!!

Caramel dip, marshmallow dip, peanut butter, all pretty nasty...

yep - this stuff is grody. so much, in fact, that i promptly threw my bottle in the trash after one taste....and after spending almost $6 on it! I have tried the fat free caramel dip by T. Marzetti and it has more cals but - totally worth it.

I like the maple syrup okay. It's definately not "real" maple syrup but it tastes pretty good. It's a little runnier than I am used to but it works for my oatmeal and pancakes.

I LOVE Walden Farms. Their salad dressings are great - I never use any other type of dressing. With some of the other products, it's kind of hit or miss. The syrups are divine and taste like the real thing to me. However, I agree the the caramel dip isn't great, and the chocolate is horrible. I do like the marshmallow dip though - it's not marshmallowy but it makes a great dip for fruit. The Alfredo and Marinara sauces are good, but I usually use them to replace half of another sauce to cut back on calories since they are a bit thin.

OH.. and from experience, the peanut butter spread and mayo are the worst products they ever made. LOL

The maple syrup isn't too bad, like others have said. Sometimes I use it to make a low-calorie crumb crust for a pudding pie or something: combine the crumbs with some syrup and press them into the bottom of a pie plate, then fill!

Food is not meant to be calorie free. It's just wrong on so many levels.

good:
-maple syrup
-chocolate syrup
-basamic vinegarette dressing
-apple butter (i mix in oatmeal or use as cinnamon bun filling)

bad:
-peanut spread
-caramel dip
-french onion dip

so-so:
-chocolate dip

the salad dressings are great!! i specially recommend the 1000 islands!! delicious!

When my local supermarket had these sitting on their reduced shelf (I wonder why?), I bought the BBQ sauce, catsup and some kind of creamy dressing. The dressing was tolerable, but the catsup and BBQ sauce tasted nothing like their real counterpart. The those two were trashed.
