Emily said: I LOVEEE anything by Boca or Light Life. The breaded chi'kn patties by Boca are insane. Slap 'em on a bun, add some cheese and a bit of tartar sauce, and they taste exactly like the fillets at McDonald's. lmao (only better!)

Leslie said: ANYTHING by Amy's but especially the Mexican tamale Pie. It is made with organic beans and vegetables in a lightly spiced Mexican sauce with a golden polenta topping. It is ONLY 150 calories and 3 grams of fat for the whole pot pie!

Wendy M said: Those pizza burgers are good. I do use the Morningstar Farms crumbles a whole lot, but I would really have to say my recommendation is Soyrizo. It is soooo good. Trader Joes has a version of it too now. Even my non-vegetarian husband likes it a lot.

Jessica said: Many things I would suggest have been listed...EVERYTHING LightLife! And Amy's! Also: Have you all tried Cedar Lane's Pizza Veggie Wrap? It's amazing! Edamame boiled in the pods and eaten straight out...it's fun and yummy! Any sort of vegetarian sushi... And as for non-prepackaged? How about a nice dish of black beans, from scratch, made with chopped tomato, onion, garlic, and peppers...and seasoned with cumin, garlic, onion, and some herbs thrown in.

Leah Temple said: I recommend Fantastic foods all natural Falafel mix. I mix a box of it up on Sunday (just add water) and eat it for the entire week without getting tired! It makes 8 servings which I divide up in the glass bowl after it sets up. In the morning, while making breakfast, I just roll up 3 little balls and toss them in the toaster oven on a sheet of aluminum foil until they are hot and light brown on the outside. Then I put them in a Cedar's wrap or another 80-90 calorie wrap, maybe with a little hummus or just some spinach and tomato and I have a 210-250 calorie lunch! At night, I put them on a big dinner salad with lots of fresh veggies. Sometimes I just roll them up in a lettuce leaf as well for a quick, portable snack throughout the day. As a hungry, poor graduate student, Fantastic foods have saved my life! It goes on sale all the time here in Tampa, Florida, but generally it is $2.69 - 3.99, not bad for a week's worth of meals. It has 130 calories per serving, 2g of fat, no saturated or trans fat. Its a little high in sodium with 350mg, has 21 grams of Carbs (but I burn those off running around all day) with 6grams of fiber, and a really fantastic 7 grams of protein.

lauren said: I'm a 5 year veggie and I've only recently started getting really into faux-meats. My favorites are morningstar chicken meal starters. AMAZING on a salad-- I've even tricked one of my hard core meat eating friends with them. Also the breaded tenders and cutets (I don't really care for Boca's... they do not have as much flavor as morningstar). I don't really care for veggie burgers that try to directly impersonate meat, I like ones that are obviously veggies. Dr. Pragers California (I don't care for the other types...) are great for that. Also Sunshine Veggie burger are AMAZING and filling. Um Amy's Bistro veggie is also great w/ a laughing cow light swiss (but expensive at whole foods.) ALSO! Gardenburger's "riblets." So great! Probably just the sauce but still! Tofurky slices are great too. Oh and Boca crumbles for cooking (tacos, etc.) AND morningstar corn dogs. HAH, I think thats it.

Tiffany said: Any Boca chik'n patties or chik'n nuggets. Honestly I don't like them (they are TOO meat like and it grosses me out!!) but for a meat eater they are great. My 5 year old brother LOVES them, thinks they are real chicken. Amy's spinach pizza and her spinach pizza snacks are AMAZING. I also love Amy's chilis, all of them. This sounds really odd, but Weight Watchers lasagna florentine is pretty amazing, so is Michael Angelo's vegetable lasagna. It was mentioned above, but falafel is a great non-meat thing I think anyone would love. Stir fry with brown rice made with mostly veggies, with or without tofu. Ok, this is making me hungry...lunch time! |

I like Gardenburger Portabella burgers. I'm not a vegetarian but I decided to give them a try, and they taste really good. Boca is also a good choice I like there new savory mushroom and mozzarella. I like the patties that don't try to pretend there beef; because I've tasted the real thing ,and they never get the taste quite right.
