Archer Farms Touch of Starfruit Water
At a recent long distance running race in California, I got to try Hint Pomegranate Tangerine Water and was amazed by how well the "hint" of natural fruit flavoring enhanced the water. The problem was that in my neighborhood outside of California, I could only buy the water by the case or online. While in my local Target store a few weeks later, I saw a collection of similar looking bottles, but it was the Target brand Archer Farms "Touch of Starfruit" Water.
When I unscrewed the cap, the water was fragrant, and it tasted great too. The starfruit essence was definitely present but didn't overwhelm the crispness of the water. It was slightly sweet with just a slight hint of tartness. Even after I drained the bottle of all traces of water, I could still smell the starfruit scent, and I was left with a uniquely designed bottle that I could reuse to store my own filtered tap water before recycling.
I have seen lots of other flavored waters on the market, but many also have artificial flavorings or sweeteners that detract from the "healthiness" of water. The bottle labeling mentions that the water is all natural with 0 calories, no preservatives, and no artificial sweeteners. These claims definitely boost this water above sodas and other sugary drinks.
I paid $1.19 for a 16 ounce bottle at Target, although I recently saw it on sale for $1. Yes, the water from my kitchen is just as satisfying and yet doesn't cost nearly as much. However, the flavoring in this is just right, and I can't think of another way to take in the taste of starfruit without consuming the real thing.
Sometimes I get tired of drinking plain water, so I would definitely buy this again, and I'm looking forward to trying the other flavors. Hopefully, their just as good.

I've tried this before and liked it, too. It's not sweet, but a nice change from the occassional glass of plain water. :)
Man, wish this was available in Canada. Looks awesome.
I tried a different flavor and I agree, it was awesome! Too bad Target is so far from me :(
I LOVE this water in the Elderberry Pear flavor. I have never tasted anything like it...very unique. I'm sure the starfruit one is just as great.
I had a bottle of the Plum/Jasmine flavored water and it was fabulous. However, I felt really strange as the night wore on. I'm concerned that there might be secret sweeteners in there that aren't on the lable. I'm alergic to both Nutrasweet and Splenda, so before I buy any more bottles - I want to know if I'm in danger.
Has anyone seen a better ingredient label for this product?
Thanks.
I recently tried the starfruit drink from archer farms and I loved it. Most other bottled flavored waters have that sweetener after taste. The trouble is they seemed to have stopped carrying it at the local Target
I adore Archer Farms flavored water. My favorite is blueberry tangerine. They are flavored with sucralose (Splenda) so if you have a reaction to artificial sweeteners, you should probably steer clear. But how sad.. because they are delicious. My only complaint is that they aren't available by the case because I would gladly buy them in bulk!
Don't let the clear water-like appearance fool you. This beverage has a pH of 3.2, which is about the same as soda. It is loaded with preservatives and citric acid. There is no nutritional value what-so-ever in this! It ruins teeth just as good as any soda.
