Annie's Microwavable Mac & Cheese
The best part of the nutrition information for Annie's Microwavable Mac & Cheese is the short list of wholesome ingredients including organic wheat macaroni. It's pretty much downhill from there. To start, each packet makes about a ¾ cup serving (not too satiating even when you add frozen mixed veggies like I did) with 230 calories, 4.5 grams of fat (7% of the RDA), 2.5 grams of saturated fat (13% of the RDA), 10 mg of cholesterol (3% of the RDA), a whopping 580mg of sodium (24% of the RDA), 2 grams of fiber (8% of the RDA), 5 grams of sugar and 9 grams of protein. Because of this dish's small serving, you will undoubtedly need to add something on the side, like soup, which will take your sodium count to astronomical heights. Annie's Microwavable Macaroni and Cheese is good if you have a huge craving and no stove to cook on. However, it is not something that I would run out and recommend to all of my friends (or loyal readers). I paid about $4 for 5 single serve packs of Annie's Microwavable Mac & Cheese. Simply because I live in a dorm and rely heavily on my microwave, I may purchase this again sometime in the future ... maybe. Comments

Brett said: Your comments are dead-on with respect to the "real cheddar" version pictured in your review. The powdered cheese clumps up and the taste is very disappointing. However, I really enjoy the white cheddar version that they sell at Trader Joe's. The cheese does not clump up at all, and it tastes good. It's not going to win any mac & cheese competitions, but it's a good, quick lunch that's easy to make at work. |

I tried this stuff a long time ago, I also didn't like the the texture! It wasn't very mac & cheezy, and wasn't able to satisfy my craving for the gooey goodness of the real thing. Fiber Gourmet has by far, the best boxed version I've tasted. (pretending Kraft doesn't exist lol)
