8 Low Calorie Beverages That Can Replace Soda

8 Soda AlternativesGiving up regular sodas is one of the most often mentioned pieces of advice when it comes to cutting down on calories, and improving general health. Rather than simply repeat this, we thought we would provide you with some alternatives. Below are 8 beverages that that can help you kick that soda habit.

1. Diet Soda. If artificial sweeteners don't scare you away, then this will at the very least, help you transition away from the regular sodas. Caffeine free diet Coke was instrumental in helping to wean me off traditional sodas, and eventually, I even gave up the 3-a-day diet soda habit.

Aquafina Sparkling2. Aquafina Sparkling Carbonated Water Beverage. There are no calories and it's fizzy like soda. We tried the Citrus Twist variety and loved it.

3. Arizona TeaArizona Diet Green Tea with Ginseng. Now this was what helped me give up diet and regular sodas totally. The taste is phenomenal - read the review.

4. Carnation Instant Breakfast No Sugar Added Nutritional Drink. This has the same amount of calories as regular soda (150 calories in an 11 ounce bottle), but this is a nutritious drink with 13 grams of protein, 2 grams of fiber and 25-50% of many vitamins and minerals. We love this stuff!

5. Diet Lipton Green Tea with Citrus. A little sweeter than flavored water, but not as sweet as fruit flavored beverages. There are no calories and we love this flavor.

6. Fruti2O Water. These fruit flavored water are sweet, but not overwhelmingly so. It's one of our favorite brands of flavored water. We reviewed the Grape and Raspberry flavors.

7. O WaterO Water. The O Water with a twist of Mandarin Orange was just as promised: clean, crisp taste of water accented with a splash of orange flavor - not sweet, no sugar and no artificial sweeteners.

8. MetroMint Water. This is a very lightly mint flavored water. All flavors include mint which provides a slight cooling sensation. If you don't like the sweeter types of flavored waters, then give this a try. We reviewed the MetroMint LemonMint Water.

Seltzer water, especially flavored ones without artificial sweeteners, are my favorite replacement.

Great list! I'm a huge fan of unsweetened iced tea or iced coffee!

This is a great list (she says as she sips on a Pepsi)! This is the hardest thing for me to overcome when watching what I eat. I can pass up that cupcake but place an ice cold fountain Pepsi in front of me and I can't resist! I'm gonna try some of these out.

Soda doesn't tempt me a bit since it's all High Fructose corn syrup or Aspartame! YUM!.. And really, if I want a soda, I'll go get some Organic fruit soda, hey it even uses fruit juice. Imagine that.

Here is a 9th idea. Try Flavrz Drink Mix. Its a new idea that replaces soda with an organic, low sugar concentrate you add to water. It tastes better than lightly flavored waters, saves packaging and is free of all artificial ingredients
