The Switch Black Cherry All Natural Soda

The Switch Black CherryAre all natural sodas increasing in popularity? Do you drink them? When I discovered Izze, I thought I had died and gone to carbonation heaven. Sodas shouldn't be on your list of approved diet foods, but if you ever get a craving and seltzer just won't do it for you, then The Switch Black Cherry is a fabulous alternative.

The bubbly carbonation gently "bites" your tongue while a naturally sweet cherry flavor permeates throughout your mouth. The Switch (love the name) is made up of 100% juice mixed with filtered sparkling water, natural flavors and ascorbic acid. If you go to The Switch website, you'll see it says, 100% of what you want: 100% juice, 100% RDA Vitamin C, All natural, Carbonated, and great taste & refreshment (and they're right on). 0% of what you don't: no Corn Syrup, no added sugar, no preservatives, no artificial colors and gluten free.

Sodas should be one of the first simple substitutions you make when you're trying to lose weight. As good as The Switch Black Cherry tastes, each 8 ounce serving will cost you 130 calories, no fat, 14 mg of sodium (1% of the RDA), 31 grams of sugar and 100% of the RDA for Vitamin C. Yes, that means if you drink an entire bottle (1.5 servings), you will consume about 46 grams of sugar!

I purchased a 4 pack of 12 ounce bottles at Target (on sale) for $3.48, which is much more than if you buy Pepsi or Coca Cola products. This fruity beverage is definitely worth it, but only on those rare occasions when I drink soda. This makes an excellent all-natural replacement for sodas, but natural or not, too much sugar, especially from just a drink, is not good and should be avoided if you're trying to lose weight.

It seems like an especially good splurge since it doesn't have any HFCS. Just saw a study today saying how bad that stuff is for your body.

I discovered Switch at WHole Foods a few years ago and fell in love with their watermelon soda. I have been trying to wean my husband off regular soda and this is the only brand of "healthy" (still a lot of sugar) soda he'll drink. All flavors are delicious, i just can't say enough about it.

Don't drink this stuff. It doesn't matter what the label says. Besides Mountain Dew, it's the most unhealthy drink possible! It leads in carbs and calories per serving, and is second in sugar per serving!

I work at one of the bottlers packing The Switch- it's a good product (we also do Izze, btw). We take great pride in what we do here. I actually mix the drinks/products bottled, so I know what goes in it.
Located in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, too, btw.
Glad you enjoy it.

Wowsa that's a lot of sugars. I was excited about it until I got to that bit in the review. Dang diabetes...I can't even have Izze, let alone this soda. And they sound SO good.*grumble*
