Amy's Organic Black Bean Vegetable Soup

Amys Organic Black Bean Vegetable SoupAfter having much success with Amy's Organic Light Sodium Split Pea Soup and Amy's Medium Chili with Vegetables, I decided it was time to merge the two ideas and taste Amy's Organic Black Bean Vegetable Soup. Would it be as tasty as the rest of Amy's products? This soup is absolutely phenomenal, surpassing all of my expectations. The appearance is dark and thick with visible chunks of corn, potatoes, carrots and onions that provide an appealing crunch in the midst of the rich black bean seasoned puree. The vegetables, which also include celery and leeks, supply such a robust flavor. No one will ever know that you spend hours in the kitchen making this hearty soup.

Amy's signature ingredient list is packed full of organic, all natural products. Furthermore, this soup is vegan, low fat and gluten free. Each cup has 130 calories, 1.5 grams of total fat (2% of the RDA), no saturated fat, trans fat or cholesterol, 430 mg of sodium (18% of the RDA), 5 grams of fiber (20% of the RDA), 6 grams of sugar and 6 grams of protein. Furthermore, the wholesome ingredients supply 50% of the RDA for Vitamin A and 10% for Vitamin C.

Although this is not a low sodium soup, it is certainly not high-sodium either when compared with other soups on the market. The high fiber and low calorie count is very appealing to those on a diet. I paid $2.12 for a can of Amy's Organic Black Bean Vegetable Soup (2 servings) and I think it was one of the best two bucks I have ever spent.

Trader Joe's has a very, very similar house brand of an organic black bean soup that is significantly cheaper, but equally tasty.

I've had this one and concur! Tasty!

I have always loved the Amy products. It's weird because I am so adverse to canned food. I feel good about this though.

I bought this after reading the review here-and I must say, I hated it! The first few spoonfuls were 'interesting' then I couldn't stand it anymore. The sweetness of it made me gag. One of the few products of Amy's I haven't liked.
