So Delicious Creamy Vanilla Dairy Free Frozen Dessert

So Delicious Creamy Vanilla Dairy Free Frozen DessertHaving previously experienced the nirvana that is So Delicious Dairy Free Chocolate Peanut Butter Frozen Dessert (read the review), I decided to pick up another flavor to see if it was just as good. What landed in my shopping cart was So Delicious Creamy Vanilla. When I got home and got settled, off came the lid of the blue quart and I was exposed to a creamy creation that resembles "regular" vanilla ice cream in aroma & appearance. Therefore, I had high expectations for the taste.

I wasn't disappointed. The texture is delectably smooth and creamy - looks like this would make a nice, thick non-dairy "milkshake". The base taste is similar to the other So Delicious' "ice creams" in that it does not taste like soy, but does have a slightly different (lighter) taste than dairy ice cream. The vanilla aspect of this dessert is present in full force. Each bite provides a sweet, smooth, cold taste sensation. Most importantly, there is no weird aftertaste following the creamy and delightful eating experience.

Each satisfying ½ cup serving of So Delicious Creamy Vanilla Dairy Free Frozen Dessert has 130 calories, 3 grams of fat (5% of the RDA), NO saturated fat, a low 55 mg of sodium (2% of the RDA), 3 grams of fiber (12% of the RDA), 13 grams of sugar and 1 gram of protein. The ingredient list does not falter containing organic soymilk, sweeteners, oils and natural flavors, as well as a few other additions.

The nutrition facts are similar to fat free 'dairy' ice creams, like Breyers Chocolate Cookies and Cream Double Churn Fat Free Ice Cream which was reviewed yesterday, so this substitution is less about reducing calories, and more if you're vegan or can't eat dairy - or you just want to try something different that's delicious. One thing that is different is the lack of calcium in non-dairy ice creams.

I paid $4.02 with a $1.00 off coupon, which I requested online. I understand that So Delicious Creamy Vanilla Dairy Free Frozen Dessert is expensive, but every sinfully creamy spoonful is worth the cost, if you can afford to fit it into your budget.

My two favorite frozen treats to enjoy are Breyer's Double Churned Fat Free Ice Cream and any of the So Delicious Dairy Free varieties. I tend to alternate between these options, tossing in a new treat every now and then for fun.

I love Breyer's fat free ice creams, Dreyer's yogurt blends, and, especially, Bluebunny's strawberry cheesecake frozen yogurt - which is fat free and deliiiicious.
