Lightfull Mango Oasis Satiety Smoothie
I've been hearing about Lightfull Smoothies for a long time, but I just couldn't find them in my local grocery stores. Finally I spotted them in Mrs. Greens Natural Grocer so I picked up the Mango Oasis flavor. On the Lightfull Smoothie website, they say, "We have only 1 point to make, All Natural Lightfull Satiety Smoothies keep you full and satisfied for hours."
As we say in Jamaica, that's big talk, so I definitely put this to the test. I woke up and purposely didn't eat breakfast or anything else. By 11AM I was feeling pretty hungry, so I reached for my bottle of Lightfull Smoothie and drank it all - only 90 calories, so that's a huge plus. The flavor was slightly mango and slightly sweet, but otherwise unremarkable. It's not bad, but it's not that great either - it's certainly good enough that I would buy it again if it kept me feeling full for hours.
I was surprised that after I drank the bottle, I was no longer feeling hungry like before. I was satisfied and didn't have any food cravings until 3:00 PM - and I was pretty hungry by then. Wow! I was impressed and I can definitely see incorporating this is a diet plan to help stop over-eating. My problem is that I stay up extremely late and I tend to snack at night, so I can see drinking a bottle of this in the evenings, a few hours before bed. The only drawback is the price. I purchased (1) 8.5 ounce bottle for $2.97. It's cheaper to buy it online at Amazon.com, $28.00 for 12 (which works out to $2.33 each).
One 8.5 ounce serving of Lightfull Mango Oasis Satiety Smoothie has 90 calories, no fat 5 grams of protein, and 38 grams of total carbohydrates which includes 9 grams of sugar and 5 grams of fiber - 20% of the recommended daily amount - wowza! There is also 20 grams of erythritol which is a natural low calorie sweetener (a little less sweet than regular sugar).
Other similar products we have reviewed include Slim Fast Optima Hunger Control Shake and Quaker Weight Control Oatmeal - both of which I was impressed with. I would buy Lightfull Smoothies again (online at Amazon.com for the cheaper price). If you need some help with "training your appetite" then this may help.

Yeah, sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with my stomach gnawing on itself. I like to drink a yogurt smoothie (Dannon Light & Fit is what I have now) because it's quick and easy and quiets my stomach down. The only drawback is I need to brush my teeth (or rinse really well) afterwards.

I think i need this smoothie. I wonder if it can really take away my appetite, to think that i really love to eat. lol.
This smoothie sounded perfect for me - until I read on Amazon that is has as much caffeine as a cup of coffee. I don't know what it is about me, but one cup of coffee/pop any time of day and I know I won't be sleeping that night.
Only the cafe latte has caffeine = to one cup of coffee. The fruit flavors have no caffeine. Also, if you sign up for Amazons subscribe and save, you can get a 15% discount of the case sales ($1.99 a smoothies). They tell you how on the website www.lightfullfoods.com/buy
How are there only 90 calories if there are 38 grams carbs PLUS fat and protein? Are they not counting the sugar alcohols as part of the calories? is this actually correct?
Anything that sounds too good to be true...is hard to believe.
@amm Right. Sugar Alcohols contribute less calories than regular sugar (not broken down). Erythritol (I think) is 0.2 calories per gram. This also has no fat, so the calories work out.
Hearing that the fruit ones have no caffeine made me really excited to try them - however, I've gone to/called a bunch of the Dominick's and Whole Foods locations listed on their site as "Where to buy", and none of them have them! I don't want to buy them on Amazon until I've at least tried one.
