Dunkin Donuts Egg White Flatbread Sandwich
There are 2 varieties, an Egg White Veggie sandwich which features egg whites, peppers, onions, mushrooms, reduced fat cheddar cheese on multigrain bread. The other one is an Egg White Turkey Sausage sandwich which has egg whites, turkey sausage, spinach, reduced fat mozzarella cheese on multigrain bread. I found the Veggie sandwich a little bland (sorry vegetarians). Maybe it needed more salt (although the nutrition facts suggest that not another gram should be added). The peppers, onions & mushrooms didn't add anything to the texture nor the taste. In contrast, I thought the Turkey Sausage was delicious. The sausage made a difference and the sandwich just seemed more spicy. The nutrition facts for the Egg White Veggie Flatbread Sandwich are 290 calories, 9 grams of total fat which is 14% of the recommended daily amount (RDA), 4 grams of saturated fat - 20% of the RDA, no trans fat, 7% of the RDA for cholesterol (20 mg), 28% of the RDA for sodium (680 mg), 11 grams of protein and 39 grams of total carbohydrates which includes 4 grams of sugar and 3 grams of fiber (12% of the RDA). There is also 170% of the RDA for vitamin C and 20% calcium. The Egg White Turkey Sausage Flatbread Sandwich has less calories and almost half the fat, but more sodium. There are 280 calories, 6 grams of total fat and 2.5 grams of saturated fat (9% and 13% of the RDA), 34% of the RDA for sodium, 19 grams of protein and 37 grams of total carbohydrates which includes 5 grams of sugar and 3 grams of fiber (12% of the RDA). The ingredients list reads like a book, which was a bit of a turn off. Overall, the nutrition facts are not stellar, but as I said over at Food-Notes.com, this is one of the better choices if you must have fast food. The sandwiches cost a little less than $3.00 each and was substantial enough for lunch (at least when paired with the small (16 ounces) Reduced Calorie Berry Smoothie). Comments

Chelsea said: I noticed the calories on the veggie was more than the turkey sausage. How is that possible? I wish i was able to test these nutritionally myself... Funny this was posted today, I just got back from the lacation near my house. I bought the Veggie Egg White sandwich, and I found it horrible! I couldn't take more than a few bites. I actually just ended up eating the egg portion and throwing the rest out (hey, I was hungry).

Tanya said: @Chelsea I think it's because there is more fat (which has more calories). I don't know why there is more fat though. I wonder if they made a mistake on the nutrition facts on their website. @FatFighter it's weird to think of DD as having more than coffee and donuts.

carly said: I was curious about these, I don't eat fast food very often but these caught my eye. Not sure if I will try them though since the nutritionals aren't really that great. PS- love your blog.. I read it religiously and it inspired me to start a blog of my own (just started today actually!) Thanks for sharing so many useful reviews with us!

Wolf Goettin said: It's possible that the veggie sandwich has more calories because they add extra oil to sauté them in - after all, a mere tablespoon of oil has over nine grams of fat. The cheddar cheese might have more calories than the mozzarella, too.

Dustin H said: I got the veggie sandwich today and the lady was nice enough to take off the cheese before heating it up. So, I'm sure if you just ask, they'll have no problem doing that:)

kerry said: Ok, the commercial for them caught my eye but as a weightlifter who eats a lot of straight eggwhites I'm wondering how/why the protein is so low. Must have minimal eggwhites in them! Not enough to make me drop in for one... |

are these pre-made? or can we custom order to, for example, take out the cheese?
