Kashi Roasted Garlic Chicken Pizza

Kashi Roasted Garlic Chicken PizzaKashi has a line of frozen pizzas where the crust is made with their signature blend of whole grains & sesame plus flax seed. In addition, the pizza is "stone-fired to bring out the natural flavors". Having already had success with the Five Cheese Tomato Pizza and the Mediterranean Pizza, I hope to hit the trifecta with Kashi's Roasted Garlic Chicken Pizza.

Alas, like Big Brown, who won the Kentucky Derby and Preakness, but finished in last place at the Belmont Stakes, Kashi scored with the first 2 pizzas, but failed miserably with this Roasted Garlic Chicken pizza (a little horse racing reference for those like myself who couldn't resist the drama on the tele). As soon as you take a bite you will probably say the same thing I did, "Good Garlic - what is going on!" Well, you might not utter the same exact words, but the pungent taste of garlic will surely fill your mouth because the creamy garlic sauce is intense! I cannot describe anything else - not the taste of the roasted vegetables nor the crispiness of the crust - because the garlic was so overwhelming, it was all that caught and kept my attention. I would have to say this pizza was a flop, and so would our good friends over at HeatEatReview.

A serving size is 1/3 pizza, which provides 300 calories, 9 grams of total fat (14% of the recommended daily amount), 4.5 grams of saturated fat (23% of the RDA), 10% of the RDA for cholesterol, 640 mg of sodium (27% of the RDA), 4 grams of fiber (16% of the RDA), 4 grams of sugar and 16 grams of protein.

Kashi gets an 'A' for effort but a 'F' for execution. One pizza costs $5.99, which is more than most other pizzas, so I was very disappointed in the taste - and the nutrition facts aren't that great either. I will NOT be buying this again.

I was going to give this one a try...maybe not. Thanks for the review!

I actually love this pizza. If you are a fan of the taste of garlic with cheese then you will definitely enjoy this one. The garlic is not overwhelming at all and the chicken is nice and juicy. I found it was 2 for $5 at my nearest Publix (on sale). Give it a chance!

You might want to give this one another try. I think you and your pals over at Heat Eat Review got a bad batch or something. The Roasted Garlic Chicken is actually one of my favorite Kashi pizzas and I don't think the garlic is overwhelming at all. And I can barely tolerate garlic because I am so sensitive to it. Don't be deterred by this review, people.
