So Delicious Dairy Free Chocolate Peanut Butter Frozen Dessert
I am not on a dairy free diet, but I enjoy branching out and trying different things and So Delicious Dairy Free Chocolate Peanut Butter Frozen Dessert is the exact reason why. It is made with organic soy milk, certified vegan, and is cholesterol and dairy free and it is oh SO Delicious indeed! Other adjectives that I could use - amazing, phenomenal, delicious
... I'm sure you're getting the picture.
The taste resembles what I would imagine mashed up peanut butter cups piled into a cone(or bowl) to taste like. MMMM! Furthermore, there is no weird after taste from the soy products. This utterly creamy concoction is a complete masterpiece. Another plus is that after eating a half cup of this delicious chocolate-peanut butter creation smashed into a crunchy cone, I am completely satisfied (that's not to say that I don’t eat more than one cone of this mouth watering creation form time to time). Even another plus is that this dairy free “ice cream” does not melt as fast as traditional ice cream. As a matter of fact, as it sits out of the freezer, it just gets smoother (but don't leave it out too long).
On a side note: My carnivorous family, who is completely opposed to any food item that is labeled vegan or soy or anything else they do not consider "normal" helped me to finish off this ice cream carton in all of two days.
The nutrition information is not breathtaking, but triumphs over the average ice cream panel. Each 1/2 cup serving of this rich, flavorful frozen treat has 140 calories, 4.5 grams of fat (7% of the RDA), 1 gram of saturated fat (5% of the RDA), 60 mg of sodium (3% of the RDA), 2 grams of fiber (12% of the RDA), 13 grams of sugar and 2 grams of protein. The one thing I miss when consuming this frozen dessert, as compared to ice cream, is the calcium - there isn't any.
If you have never had SO Delicious Dairy Free Chocolate Peanut Butter Frozen Dessert before, you are seriously missing out. The price is not cheap (anywhere from $4 - $6), but you can sometimes request coupons on their website. But it's worth it, so I find myself purchasing this product quite frequently.
Editors note from Tanya: This is the same product that used to be called Soy Delicious (by Turtle Mountain). They changed the name - which I would say is a smart move, but they didn't change the formulation. It's just as delicious as when we reviewed Turtle Mountain Purely Decadent Dairy Free Cherry Nirvana Ice Cream, which was also heavenly (read that review).

I gave up ice cream about eight years ago (lactose problems) but still fall off the wagon every once in a while. This seems like a much better alternative. (Or perhaps a really bad idea for me ... really, am I not better off without frozen desserts?)
Oh yes! Give this a try. Completely worth it. Unless, like me, you have no control when it comes to ice cream (or any other frozen dessert), in which you may eat the whole thing in 2 days!...
