Lean Pockets Whole Grain Supreme Pizza

Lean Pockets Whole Grain Supreme PizzaThere has been a lot of buzz about the "Whole Grain" Lean Pockets - mostly from the Lean Pockets people themselves, but this made me want to take a 2nd look at this breakfast/ snack option. First I checked out the ingredients list of the Lean Pockets Whole Grain Supreme Pizza. The 2nd item is whole wheat flour, but there is also unbleached enriched flour, making it not much difference from most other pastries. The list also includes partially hydrogenated palm kernel oil although not enough for trans fat to make an appearance on the nutrition facts.

As for the taste of Lean Pockets Supreme Pizza, it's great. Cheese and pepperoni inside a crispy, thick crust - what more could a girl ask for? It's the perfect size for a snack - not too small, but not too big that the nutrition facts make me toss it like Texas Toast.

Each Lean Pockets Whole Grain Supreme Pizza provides 220 calories, 7 grams of total fat and 2.5 grams of saturated fat (10% and 13% of the RDA), 6% of the RDA for cholesterol, 20% of the RDA for sodium (490 mg), 10 grams of protein and 30 grams of carbohydrates which includes 10 grams of sugar and 14% of the RDA for fiber.

A box with 2 costs $2.38 which is a very reasonable price. The Whole Wheat thing might be all hype and advertising, but these really do come in handy as a quick snack that's not too high in fat or calories - you could do worse.

They used to make these in the "ultra" virety and they tasted similar but the nutritonals were better- almost double the protein and alot more fiber. I dont know why they stopped making them :( I like these too though, but they're not very filling

yeah, i'ved tried the ultra variety, too. I found them quite tasty, but they didn't fill me up. I always had to eat something else along with them.

I also tried the other variety with more protein! The protein content was high which is why I bought them in the first place. They were not quite as good, but I would still readily buy the old ones. New ones taste good, but have lost their appeal.
