Yoplait Fiber One Vanilla Yogurt

Yoplait Fiber One Vanilla YogurtYoplait makes yummy yogurt (my favorites are Yoplait Light and YoPlus) and Fiber One makes cereal that's super charged with a lot of fiber and tasty too, like Fiber One Cereal with Honey Clusters. So of course I expected a collaboration between Yoplait and Fiber One to produce nothing but excellent results. Alas, I came away with mixed feelings after tasting their attempt at Vanilla Yogurt.

The Good: The texture was perfect. Smoooooth, creamy with a thick consistency. Plus there is 20% of the RDA for fiber in a 4 ounce cup.

The Bad: Please pass the water because this yogurt is way too SWEET!

The Ugly: Seems like the vanilla essence died in a battle with high fructose syrup and aspartame. I couldn't believe that I actually had to chase yogurt with water!

A 6-pack of 4-ounce cups cost $2.56. Each provides 80 calories, no fat, 4 grams of protein and 19 grams of total carbohydrate which includes 11 grams of sugar and 5 grams of fiber (20% of the RDA).

This attempt at Vanilla yogurt is just too sweet for me and I can't in good conscience waste money on this again. But I do look forward to trying the other flavors (Key Lime Pie. Strawberry and Peach) and I hope those are a little less sweet.

I love your Fiber One yogurt products. The flavors are great and best of all it doesn't taste like your eating Fiber. Love it, Love it, Love it. How about making it in bigger containers.

Tanya, I totally agree with your review! Too sweet, and the vanilla flavoring tastes so artificial. I can't even describe it. I usually prefer vanilla yogurt. But this one is odd. (I'm eating it right now.) The peach (which I had yesterday) tastes better, but it's also too sweet.

I don't know why Yoplait insists on making all their yogurts so sweet! We don't want candy! We want something healthy, but lightly sweetened. Why can't they add only half the sugar without having to add artificial sweeteners?! I can't find any yogurts like that.

However, I am impressed that I was not able to detect the fiber, and it's a very smooth yogurt. If they can improve the flavors and the sweeteness, they'd have a big hit!

(FYI: I found a 6-pack at my local 99 Cents Only store this week. It was worth trying for only 99 Cents per 6-pack!)

Eileen - if I found a 6-pack for $0.99 I would definitely give the other flavors a go.

It's a really good idea to steer away from anything with aspartame in it. It's an artificial sweetener that is also a deadly neurotoxin which causes a host of problems to the brain and immune system. It's basically poison and the FDA knows it and approved it anyway. Don't believe me?
