Weight Watchers Smart Ones Calzone Italiano

Weight Watchers Smart Ones Calzone ItalianoA Calzone is basically a closed pizza, a pizza pocket if you will. Weight Watchers Smart Ones describes their Calzone Italiano as comprised of "low fat mozzarella cheese, the zesty flavor of Italian sausage and hearty tomato sauce in oven baked bread."

I followed the directions exactly, and the result was a piping hot calzone. The taste was superb! The crust was perfectly soft, slightly crispy and definitely not soggy from being microwaved. The calzone is filled with thick, cheesy tomato sauce - the cheese would sometimes string out just like on a pizza. The inside is complete with Italian sausage (made from pork). I savored every bite mostly because it was hot, but also because this is not very big and I didn't want to eat another one at the same time. This made a very satisfying lunch but I was hungry again in an hour and a half.

A box of 2 Weight Watchers Smart Ones Calzones cost $2.92. Each one provides 290 calories, 6 grams of total fat, 2 grams of saturated fat (both are 10% of the RDA), 620 mg of sodium (26% of the RDA), 14 grams of protein and 47 grams of total carbohydrate which includes 6 grams of sugar and fiber (23% of the RDA).

HeatEatReview.com rated this 3 out of 5 stars. I was totally in love with this and it's 5 stars all the way for me. The only thing traditional calzones have over this is that they are 3 times the size - and 10x the calories!

You could add some steamed vegetables or a dinner salad with this food to provide more satiety with very little calories!

I'm new to this site and thanks for sharing reviews. I hate to waste money on foods that I may not like, so it's nice to hear someone else's opinion on this.
