Sturm's Cranberry Whole Grain Oatmeal

Sturms Whole Grain OatmealI was actually looking for Quaker Weight Control Oatmeal (after reading Jeffrey's comment about losing 15 pounds from eating it every morning), but the red box of Sturm's Cranberry Whole Grain Oatmeal caught my attention. I looked more closely and saw, "No Sugar Added, Whole Grain, Healthy for Your Heart, Made with Flax Seeds and Plant Sterols" - all on the front panel. How could I not buy this instead? So I grabbed a box and into my grocery cart it went.

The next morning, it took me all of 2 minutes to prepare this, and it was really delish yummy. The directions are to add 1/2 cup of water, stir and microwave for 2-3 minutes. That will result in a very THICK oatmeal, so don't be afraid to add more - I usually add about 3/4 cup. The oatmeal has a natural, fresh taste - not as sweet as some other oatmeal, but I didn't miss it. There are enough cranberries sprinkled throughout to add a pleasant contrasting flavor in every few spoonfuls. It's also very filling - I have been having this oatmeal every morning for breakfast, and I don't even think about food until lunch time.

Each 36 gram packet provides 120 calories, 4% of the RDA for total fat (2.5 grams), no saturated fat, a low 4% of the RDA for sodium (90 mg), 4 grams of protein and 21 grams of total carbohydrates which includes 20% of the RDA for fiber (6 grams) and only 1 gram of sugar. The alternative sweeteners used are aspartame and acesulfame K - but there is no aftertaste.

This has 4 grams of soluble fiber compared to Live Active Nut Harvest Crunch Cereal which touts their 3 grams (of soluble fiber) as being good for digestive health (read the review). Soluble fiber is a prebiotic and helps promote digestive health.

A box with 8 packs cost $2.78 at the time of purchase, which was money well spent. If I had to choose between this and Quaker Weight Control Oatmeal, I would give this the edge.

Haven't had this in a while so maybe they've changed the formula, because when I had this oatmeal it was very bland. Just add some milled flaxseed to your normal oatmeal for the same(or more) health benefits.

Just found this oatmeal in Blueberry and I love it! It's the best I've ever had! Much more filling and delicious than others, and the nutritional info can't be beat! Definitely a new favorite!

I cannot find Sturms cramberry oatmeal at Walmart or any store in the Antioch, Il area. Please let me know where it can be purchased, even if I have to go to Wisconsin. I don't live too far away. Thanks,

I have used Sturm's Cranberry Oatmeal for about 3 years now and love it! It is getting harder to find in the WalMarts in my area around Jackson, Mississippi. Are there any other grocery stores that carry it?

This is the best oatmeal I've ever had. Of course my usual curse of loving a product means they no longer make it or is impossible to find has struck once again. Where oh where can I find it again!!! I live in the Central Florida area. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I can't find Sturms anywhere in Birmingham, AL. This is the only oatmeal I will eat!
Checked Walmart, Publix, Western, Winn Dixie. HELP!
