Simply Grapefruit Juice

Simply Grapefruit JuiceThe current advice offered by dietitians is not to drink juice if you are trying to lose weight because you need to cut as much sugar as you can in the diet. However, in an effort to get as many natural vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants in my body, personally I drink natural juices once every few weeks. The means, not juices from concentrate, because by definition, juice concentration has had all the nutrients removed.

Simply Grapefruit is produced by the Simply Orange Juice Company - (which is now owned by Coca Cola). This is one of my favorite line of juices because their products are 100% natural, pure juice - no added sugar, water or preservatives. You don't have to look to see if the "grapefruit" juice is actually more apple and pear (like Minute Maid Enhanced Pomegranate Blueberry Juice which actually has more apple and grape juices).

And of course, Simply Grapefruit is simply delicious (you knew that pun was coming didn't you). This pulp-free version is tart, like grapefruit juice should be. The rich pink and red colors of grapefruit are due to the presence of the anti-oxidant, lycopene (same nutrient found in tomatoes) and helps contribute to the high antioxidant activity of grapefruit juice (one of the highest among juices). Lycopene is also being studied closely because it seems to have a beneficial effect in fighting prostate cancer. More on this can be found at WHFoods.

One 8 ounce serving of Simply Grapefruit is 90 calories, 18 grams of sugar and 90% of the daily value for vitamin C. Florida's Natural Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice is also all natural but has 20 grams of sugar (read our review).

One 59 ounce (1.75 L) bottle retails for $3.89 and it's well worth it. If you choose to buy juices, then give this brand a try in support for being as natural as possible.

I gave up drinking juice in solidarity with my mother, who was cutting sugars, a while ago, but recently I've been craving a slightly sweet beverage and most are out of the question (I avoid HFCS and artificial sweeteners like the plague). Perhaps I'll look into this line of juices.

I love this line of juices. I have had the Simply Orange and Simply Apple. Both are great tasting and good for me. I have never had Grapefruit..not a fan of it. But I would recommend trying all of them.

I absolutely love this Simply Grapefruit. Even w/o being a fan of grapefruit... you should try this...

..I love grapefruit and I tried simply grapefruit and it was simply disgusting. It seriously tasted like my juice was just chemicals.

Just discovered Simply Grapefruit yesterday. They only had two bottles of it on the shelves. Since I like grapefruit juice and love the Simply Orange, I decided to buy a bottle. Now I wish I had purchased both of them. It was as if someone held a couple of grapefruit over a cup and just squeezed. Delicious, tart and tangy. Makes a great screwdriver too. lol. I highly recommend this juice.

i adore all the simply made juices except the grapefruit. i was disappointed.

I can no longer find simply grapefruit juice in any supermarket where i live in nj
Why?

I love simply grapefruit juice. it taste very fresh and yummy. i always buy the orange & grapefruit. i highly recommended.

I thoroughly enjoy this juice since it is all natural and has the right amount of tartness to it. I have tried many and this is by far the best!

I love Simply Grapefruit - especially that it is unsweetened. Whoever thought they were improving grapefruit by adding sugar was wrong, Simply wrong.
