Silk Soymilk Plus Fiber
Silk Soymilk has a new Plus line enhanced with ingredients that provide extra nutrition, Silk Plus Omega-3 DHA, Silk Plus for Bone Health and the one I'm reviewing Silk Plus Fiber. I poured in a bowl of Fiber One Cereal with Honey Clusters added a little less than 1/2 cup of Silk Plus Fiber (I don't like a lot of milk in my cereal), and prepared to start the day off with 60% of my daily requirement for fiber.
The taste is exactly like regular Silk with a mild taste and not a strong soy/ beany flavor. If you chose to try and drink this straight though (does anybody do that?) then you will get some of that wheaty flavor which I am not a big fan of. The only soy milk that I have tried to drink straight that didn't have that taste was Silk Chocolate Soymilk (read the review. I would drink this over regular Silk though because of the extra fiber and no difference in calorie content.
One serving of Silk Soy Milk Plus Fiber (1 cup) has 100 calories, 3.5 grams of fiber (5% of the recommended daily amount), 0.5 grams of which is saturated fat (3% of the RDA), 6 grams of protein and 14 grams of total carbohydrate which includes 7 grams of sugar and 20% of the RDA for fiber (5 grams). 1 cup of plain Silk has 1 gram of fiber but otherwise similar nutrition facts. Silk is vegan and also use some organic ingredients. The fiber is in the form of dextrins.
I paid $3.19 for a half gallon container, and it was totally worth it, plus there is a coupon for $2.25 off a carton at their website [read the review). Another favorite of a lot of the readers is 8th Continent which seems to have the least calories (50 calories per cup).

I am not a fan at all of soy milk. I think it tastes strange, then again, I am not one for trying different things. It may all just be in my head that i don't like it. Maybe I have just had the wrong brand. This one sounds healthy, but not so good.
I didn't used to be a fan of soy milk, but now I cannot get enough! I had to start out with just using it on cereal and that sort of thing, but once you get used to it it's GREAT to have plain, too!
I use soy milk because I am lactose intolerant. I bought the bone health Silk Plus. I love using it to make a 100 calorie latte. I brew 1 cup of soy milk, 2 shots of espresso. Since it is vanilla, it is sweet enough for me. If I want a extra sweet kick, I add 1 TB of sugar-free hazlenut syrup. Yummy!
What retail outlets in New York City sell Silk Soy Milk with Fiber?
Probably can get it at Gristedes, Whole Foods and Stop & Shop.
They have stopped manufacturing Silk plus Fiber. It was a great product (great way to "slip in" some fiber into your diest without even noticing) and I hate to see it gone!
Maybe if a bunch of people called the company to request it, they will bring it back! (888)820-9283
