Perdue Perfect Portions Chicken Breasts
Another thing I loved about Perdue Perfect Portions is that they have some pre-seasoned options available, like Tomato Basil, Teriyaki, Roasted Garlic with White Wine, Italian Style and Herb and Pepper, plus you can also buy it sans seasoning. Check out Epicurious for some recipes. I see they have attempted to replicate my World famous baked herb-crusted chicken breasts (well maybe mine isn't "World" famous - but it's famous in my house), and this is a simple easy recipe to try if you're just statrting to cook (or want to impress your girlfriend/ boyfriend with a beautifully cooked and tasty meal for Valentines Day). One individually wrapped un-seasoned chicken breast from Perdue Perfect Portions is 4.8 ounces and provides 130 calories (140 - 160 if it is pre-seasoned), 1.5 grams of total fat, no saturated fat, 27% of the recommended daily amount for cholesterol, 15% of the RDA for sodium (350 mg), no carbohydrates and 29 grams of protein. The nutrition facts for all the varieties can be found at their website, along with some recipes like for the Chicken with Tomatoes and Polenta shown in the picture. This convenience comes at a price of $7.86 for the package with 6 portions (chicken breasts are expensive in general). These should definitely be added to the grocery list though because we all get really busy sometimes and this will at lease give us a home cooked meal in 20 minutes. Unfortunately for you folks that don't live in the Mid-West, Southeast or Eastern US - I think that means you guys out West - Perdue Perfect Portions is not yet available in your area. Comments

Ryan said: Yeah, these are great. I buy a pack every other week (though at my Kroger they cost $9.99...not $7.86). I buy them for the convenience factor.

Annie said: These are good! I have one tip though, if you freeze them: on the package, they say you can cook them straight from frozen, but I don't reccomend this. They come out really tough this way. They taste much better when thawed in the fridge!

I did get a bag of frozen chicken breasts from Costco that are all individually packaged like that, so it makes life a lot easier for my two-person-household! Some conveniences are worth a little extra cost.

Wolf Goettin said: I've never seen these, but they do look convenient. However, I don't know if they're worth the price, despite the convenience of them. Around here, I can buy boneless, skinless chicken breasts for only $1.50 a pound, or bone-in, skin-on breasts for $0.99 a pound. Still, these would be great to have around for days when I just don't have time.

Pamela said: These look fantastic! I hardly ever buy chicken because it's just me and it's such a pain to make single servings. I'll have to keep an eye out for them.

Erica said: I have bought these and love the convenience. However, I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but some of the breasts are not the same size. Some seem really big, and others are very small. I even weighed them and they were not even close to the same weight. I liked them, but I am a bit skeptical.

Cheryl said: I love these. We currently have 2 Roasted Garlic & White Wine ones in the freezer. I take out two and put them in the sink to defrost. When my husband gets home he throws them on the grill, I bake two of those frozen Grands biscuits, put some bagged salad in a bowl, and we have a healthy, yummy meal.

Vivian said: I would love a coupon for a free pack! Living alone and cooking for 1 can be a bit of a chore sometimes. But, since I discovered the Perfect Portions, I have been motivated to cook at home more and I'm eating a lot healthier these days as well. If you have a Super Wal-Mart nearby, I suggest buying the Perfect Portions there - they are $2 less then any other grocery store around! |

I saw this in the store and flipped out! I always end up making way more chicken then needed for a single gal which leads to dry untouched leftovers that end up in the garbage. These are so easy. Just defrost one in the fridge and in 20 minutes, I have a perfect meal. yay!!!
