While Attune makes Granola probiotic wellness bars as well, I opted for the Chocolate variety, specifically an Attune Cool Mint Chocolate Probiotic Wellness Bar. Upon ripping off the corner of the package, the smell brought visions of Andes mints dancing in my head. However, once the wrapper came off, the visions subsided as a chocolate bar full of crisp rice tantalized my taste buds. The bar is scored in the middle with the word attune written on either side. Each bite is crispy and creamy at the same time. The smooth chocolate contains a slight hint of minty essence that serves its purpose without being overpowering. This bar tasted exactly like a sinfully delicious chocolate bar. Health was the last thing on my mind while enjoying the minty creation. Each Cool Mint Chocolate bar bar weighs 20 grams (it's a small bar) and has 100 calories, 9 grams of total fat, 4 grams of saturated fat (9% and 20% of the RDA), no trans fat, 2 grams of protein and 12 grams of total carbohydrates which includes 8 grams of sugar and 1 gram of fiber. There is also 20% of the RDA for calcium. Attune Cool Mint Chocolate Probiotic Wellness Bars were on sale for $0.50 each. They can also be bought online at Attune (7 for $9.99). While I would not make this an everyday treat because of the amount of saturated fat, it does makes the perfect substitute for a candy bar. Taste:

He does love chocolate so we tried the regular chocolate flavor Attune bars with him. They were a hit! He didn't even give them the evil eye at any point in the process. Usually when shown a new food, he will say "NO!" immediately. If the food passes this phase, he will check it out for a LONG time. Anything out of the ordinary will cause it to be rejected. He couldn't find anything to disagree with, which is saying a lot! I don't give these to him often but they are a nice substitute for regular chocolate every now and then! We usually pay $1.00/bar at the local Safeway. |
