Weight Watchers Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Premium Ice Cream Cups

Weight Watchers Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Premium Ice Cream CupsI am not on the Weight Watchers diet, but I enjoy just about anything that is sweet, frozen but low in calories. Therefore, when I saw these Weight Watchers Ice Cream Cups, I got excited! I can have pre-portioned cups of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream? How could I go wrong?

When I popped the bright blue top off of my cute little cup, I was pleasantly surprised because it looked very close to the picture on the package, which was a big plus. Then, I dipped my spoon in and took my first bite. My initial thoughts were, "Yum, this is really creamy, yet a little sweeter than I am used to." Just about every bite had crunchy mini chocolate chips, which was a nice compliment to the smooth texture of the ice cream. The problem came when I was trying to find the cookie dough chunks. There were about half as many cookie dough pieces as there were chocolate chips and they were the size of a small blueberry (or a regular sized chocolate chip). In other words, what was supposed to be the main event of the ice cream was only a mere contributor. In the end, I was still satisfied with this enjoyable frozen treat.

Each Weight Watchers Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream Cups is 6 ounces and has 140 calories, 2.5 grams of fat (4% of the recommended daily amount), 1.5 grams of saturated fat (6% of the RDA) and no trans fat. There is a whopping 24% of the RDA for fiber (6 grams), 4 grams of protein, 8% of the RDA for vitamin A and 15% of calcium but 22 grams of sugar. Sounds great, right? Well, then I looked at the long list of ingredients and found my worst enemy, partially hydrogenated soybean oil (I knew this was too good to be true!). Each cup is also 2 WW Points.

I bought a pack of 2 for $2.09 at my local grocery store. Was it worth it? Yes - I think so! However, I will probably only buy these occasionally. It tastes great, is low in fat and the perfect size. But the use of partially hydrogenated oils, 22 grams of sugar and lengthy ingredient list are a major turn off.

Weight Watchers uses hydrogenated oils in many of their frozen desserts and also the frosted cakes. They use it because it's a cheap. I dropped WW because they care a lot more about my money than my health

Amazing how there are no trans fats and yet there is partially hydrogenated oil present. Someone is taking advantage of an ingredient labeling loophole here...

If it says trans fat than it is. I called and they hydrogenated oils are considered trace amounts. The farther is it down the label of ingredients the less there is. I don't think you need to worry unless you are eating 6 or more a day of them.

I can't eat anything with sucralose or aspertame. Please use stevia in your ice cream and other products.

Many people can't eat sucralose or aspertame sweeteners. We can eat stevia. When are you going to use this more safe sweetener?

I would like to know where I can find Weight Watchers Ice Crdeam, or Ice Cream cups. I live in the Scottsdale AZ area, and have not had any luck in finding an Ice Cream that is low in fat and very few points!! I have found your little deserts but not a true Ice Cream?
