Baked Tostitos Scoops

Baked Tostitos ScoopsChips and salsa: the ultimate party food. Unfortunately, if you're eating restaurant-style tortilla chips, you can rack up hundreds of 11% of the recommended daily amount of fat from 1 serving (1 ounce). Fortunately, the next time you're in charge of providing party snacks, you now have a better alternative, Baked Tostitos Scoops.

I have a hard time telling the difference in taste between these chips and the regular version. Perhaps they're less greasy than the original, but I consider that a definite plus. Also, these are a better alternative to the Tostitos Light, which are lower in calories but contain the fat replacer, Olestra (products with Olestra are now required by the FDA to carry this warning label: Olestra may cause abdominal cramping and loose stools. Olestra inhibits the absorption of some vitamins and other nutrients. Vitamins A, D, E, and K have been added). Baked Tostitos' taste is far superior as well and I especially enjoy the shape of the Scoops, which are actually perfect for scooping up gobs of salsa (and maybe a few spoonfuls of guacamole).

Each 1 ounce serving (15 chips) contains 120 calories and 3 grams of fat (5% of the RDA), of which only 0.5 grams are saturated (2% of the RDA). There are also 2 grams of fiber (22 grams of total carbohydrates) and just 6% of your RDA for sodium (150 mg).

A 10 ounce bag cost $3.49 which is similar to most other Tortilla Chips. These are a great snack, whether you're mingling with friends or just looking for something to satisfy your afternoon munchies.

At least the label doesn't say the words "anal seepage" anymore. :)

I've never even seen the light chips sold in my area, but the baked are easy to locate. You can even find them in single-serving bags here, which is great for packing lunches.

Yes, these chips are great. I eat them as they are much healthier than the original brand.

I found a bug baked into mine
