Stonyfield Farm Organic Fat Free French Vanilla Yogurt
Yogurt is one of my favorite healthy snacks and Stonyfield Farms has promised to offer a healthy, organic, and, of course, flavorful product. I tried the Organic Fat Free French Vanilla Yogurt and there are a lot of things that this yogurt does right. The consistency is excellent - thick, smooth and creamy - and there's no hint of graininess, but you have to actually give it a stir before it moves. The yogurt is only mildly sweet, which is refreshing since a lot of yogurts are really too sweet, and its tanginess offsets the sweetness nicely.
But, I enjoyed, though was not amazed, by the flavor. There's a hint of vanilla which is not as potent as I had hoped. Perhaps I was expecting more of a vanilla bean flavor than I should have, but I was rather disappointed. It's almost like the vanilla was an afterthought - it's there, but only barely.
One 6 ounce cup of Stonyfield Fat Free French Vanilla Yogurt is 130 calories, no fat or cholesterol, 7 grams of protein, and 27 grams of total carbohydrates, which includes a whopping 24 grams of sugars. That is a shockingly high amount, especially when this yogurt doesn't even taste that sweet.
Personally, if I'm going to eat that much sugar, I'd eat it in some other form, not yogurt. One big 32 ounce tub costs $2.50 - $3.00, which is more expensive than Dannon All Natural Yogurt for example.

just pointing out - the sugar is, in large part, from lactose, a natural sugar found in milk. so while the sugar could have been reduced some, it wouldn't be that much - 1 cup of the plain yogurt I use (mountain high) has 17 grams of sugar, and there is no added sweetener whatsoever.
