Back to Nature Banana Walnut Bakery Squares
This review was done by Emily Wolter. Emily is a senior in high school who loves scouring the supermarket and trying out new foods. "I live in Texas which makes it even more of a challenge to eat healthy because I am constantly surrounded by fried fast food, but I like a challenge." Emily plans to attend college and major in Food Science & Technology or Dietetics. "I am extremely interested in food and its affects on the body."
I opened the package and it actually smelled just like the house did last night when my mom was baking. That was a welcoming attribute, but the size was a bit smaller than I had expected. Once I took a bite, I realized why - they are very dense! They are also very moist. Scattered throughout the batter are walnuts and raisins (the picture on the box does not lie!), which adds variety to the texture. After finishing this petite, flavor packed treat, my sweet-tooth was more than satisfied! The nutrition facts of Back to Nature Banana Walnut Bakery Squares are pretty impressive too, considering that this tasted like something that would come from a bakery! Each 30 gram bar has 130 calories, 5 grams of fat (8% of the recommended daily amount), 0.5 grams of saturated fat (3%) and 19 grams of total carbohydrates, which includes 9 grams of sugar and 8% of the RDA for fiber. It also contains 4% of your daily value for iron and 3 grams of protein. I tend to gravitate towards the Back to Nature brand because of the enlightening disclaimers on the front of their packages - NO high fructose corn syrup, NO hydrogenated oils and NO artificial preservatives or flavors. Plus the boxes are made from 100% recycled paperboard, which is pretty cool! My family bought boxes of Back to Nature Banana Walnut Bakery Squares at a local 99 cent store for ... $0.99! However, they can also be purchased online at their website, for $3.49 per box. While this is a bit expensive, I think it is completely worth it. For a little more than $3, you can skip the cake and pie and receive 5 delicious desserts! Pair them with a small glass of milk and you have got it made! Comments

Wait wait, I want to know how it stacked up to your mom's homemade bread? I tend to prefer homemade, but if this is as good, perhaps I'll have to try it!
