Lean Cuisine Macaroni and Cheese

Lean Cuisine Macaroni and CheeseLC describes this meal as "tender elbow macaroni in a creamy cheddar cheese sauce, made with aged cheddar and club cheeses." I'm here to tell you that the description sounds way better than the meal actually tastes. It is bland and tasteless, and they might have well been using the powdered cheese stuff because, I still wasn't able to tell that it was real cheese. This is just not one of your better choices.

Since Lean Cuisine makes it, I eat least expected that the nutrition facts would not be too bad. It turns out that this could also use some improvement.

Lean Cuisine Macaroni and Cheese has 290 calories, 7 grams of total fat (11% of the RDA), 20% of the RDA for saturated fat (4 grams), 25% of the RDA for sodium, 15 grams of protein and 41 grams of total carbohydrates which includes 8 grams of sugars and 2 grams of fiber (9% of the RDA). This meal is also 6 Weight Watchers Points.

This is not the way you want to spend 6 Points and 1/5th of your days' saturated fat intake. Mac n cheese is such a quick and easy thing to make on in the kitchen, that it's a waste of $2.50 to be buying a frozen mac n cheese meal. So far, I'm 0 for 2 when it comes to frozen macaroni dinners, having tried this and Amy's Macaroni and Soy Cheese (read the review) which I aslo didn't like.

I agree. It's a very non-descript gelatinous food. Ick.

don't try the weight watchers (smart ones) mac & cheese. it's worse than lean cuisine's. not that you have any reason to have high expectations for frozen mac & cheese anymore ;)

Macaroni and cheese is cheap and easy to make but when you make it at home you don't get the portion control you get with frozen dinners.
I eat them because I know (almost) exactly how many calories I've consumed.

Cedarlane mac n cheese is low fat and tastes really good if you don't overcook it! I'd recommend it. Only 270 cals and 3 grams of fat per serving.

I agree with you on the Lean Cuisine front. The Smart Version tastes much better. I think this is due to the enormous amount of salt.

I recommend strongly against the Cedarlane Mac and Cheese. It was unbelievably awful.
