Goody2Chews Chocolatey Fruit and Nut Snack

Goody2ChewsGoody2Chews Fruit & Nut Snack are bite-sized squares made from fruits (dates and raisins) and almonds. They come in 3 varieties, caramel, yogurt and chocolate, which is the one that I tried. The squares are totally delish! I bit into one and I was actually surprised it was so good - fruity in a not too sweet kind of way. Although this says "chocolate" that only refers to the thin coating on the outside of the chewy square (which has cocoa powder in it). So while this may satisfy your sweet tooth, it might not cut it for a chocolate craving.

With a name like "Goody2Chews" I expected the nutrition to be diet-friendly, but I think this is more suitable for replacing some of the highly processed, artificial candies out there, than to reduce calories because one pack of Goody2Chews, which is a serving, has 200 calories, 7% of the RDA for fat and 15% for saturated fat (4.5 and 3 grams respectively), no trans fat, 10 grams of protein and 32 grams of carbohydrates which includes 27 grams of sugar and 3 grams of fiber (12% of the RDA).

The ingredients in the Chocolate Chew are are dates, raisins, whey protein, almonds, cranberries and chocolatey coating (evaporated cane juice, fractionated palm kernel oil, cocoa powder, nonfat dry milk solids, salt, soy lecithin and natural flavour). The Chews are so good you may choose to eat the whole bag at once, but there is quite enough in it to take a few and save some for another time - less calories and sugar. Goody2Chews are available on Amazon.com at $16.48 for a pack of 12.

The yogurt Goody 2 Chews are even better!!

I love these things. The caramel ones aren't bad either.

Fractionated palm kernel oil? Sorry, that's trans fats!

Those sound like a yummy little treat! I never heard of them...
