Question of the Day: What foods have you given up since you started eating healthier
Unfortunately, I had to say bye bye to french fries and a bad soda habit. It wasn't easy, but it had to be done! Discuss this question and more in the new Food Forum.

Nothing. In my recovery from anorexia, I quickly learned that it's all about portion control. If you deny yourself ANYTHING you'll want it all the more and become obsessive about it (or possessive for that matter) whenever it comes around. So, I do not deny myself anything. As I maintain my weight and my healthy eating choices, I find that slipping in some good 99% dark chocolate (1/2 fat exchange at a time) to my breakfast banana sandwich or supplying a carb exchange with some sugar free cookies once in awhile sates those cravings for "bad" foods. Now that it's been 1 year, I can definitely say that when someone eats "healthy" they not only make healthy choices, but that they have a healthy attitude about living their life. For me, denial in any form is not conducive to healthy living.
Amen! That's the way life should be lived, and the only way which is healthy. Limiting food or not allowing it is all disordering eating, which I swear every woman in America has (just about!)
I've given up soda as well, along with most of my meat and cheese intake. Almost back to being vegan even. It's lost me 31 pounds in two months!
