Coke: Diet Coke Plus
Diet Coke Plus is essentially diet Coke PLUS vitamins and minerals. There have been a few haters on this, "how dare they put vitamins in a drink which is probably unhealthy in the first place?!" is what people say. And well, I slightly agree. There is only 25% of vitamin B6, B12 and niacin, and 15% zinc and magnesium, so for those who like this, let's not pretend that we are getting a lot of vitamins from this beverage! Pop a multivitamin instead - which you should be doing anyway (try OneSource).
In terms of taste, I swear that Coke has reformulated Diet Coke without telling us and that is a totally good thing. Diet Coke Plus tastes exactly like Diet Coke (the secretly reformulated version) and I like. Unfortunately for me, I bought the 12 pack, and since I had a seriousl bad soda habit in the past, I feel myself drinking more than 1 of this per day. After this is gone - no more soda for me for at least a month! I know there are a lot of soda bashers out there, and whereas I wouldn't advocate putting anything with pH 3 in your mouth (that's like drinking not-so-concentrated acid), I don't exactly believe that drinking soda is the root of all evil.
There is no surprise about the calories here - Diet Coke Plus has 0 calories, and is sweetened with aspartame and acesulfame-K. You know Coke products are el cheapo, and this was no exception. I bought a 12 pack on sale for $3.00.
My favorite 'soda' at the moment is Izze, but unfortunately (or well fortunately since I have given up drinking too much soda), they come with a hefty price tag. If you can't beat your soda habit, then Diet Coke Plus is certainly a good option - but I certainly wouldn't pay extra for it.

They were giving this away free at Target when it first came out, so I optimistically tried a 12 pack. Every time I drank it I got terrible stomach cramps!

Sounds like allergies. Who really knows how the body might react to acesulfame-K. Even when the vast majority of us might have no reaction, others can react quite poorly.
Fortunately, I only bought a 12-pack on sale, and I think nine of them are still left. To me, it has a weird mettalic aftertaste, and not enough carbonation. As a matter of fact, every time I've had it is has been practically flat poured straight out of the can. I won't be buying any more of this. I like Coke Zero the best.
I love diet coke plus! Though it seems I might be the only one.
