Brothers All Natural Freeze Dried Fruit

Brothers Freeze Dried FruitMy favorite type of cereals are the ones with fruit pieces in them, like Kashi Organic Promise Strawberry Fields Cereal and Honey Bunches of Oats Cereal with Strawberries. Now, thanks to the folks that make Brothers All Natural Freeze Dried Fruit, I can now enrich all cereals with some fruity goodness.

Brothers All Natural produces six varieties of fruit crisps: strawberry, pineapple, Asian pear, banana, apple, and strawberry-banana. One of the best ways to enjoy these is to add it to your favorite cereal. When you add milk, the freeze dried fruits soften and plump up - and just add a new dimension to your cereal. I also like to mix them into homemade trail mix.

What you don't want to do is eat them straight from the bag. If you're used to traditionally dried fruit (like raisins), the texture of this fruit might seem a bit strange - like normal fruit but without any moisture, so it may seem like eating sweet styrofoam. To quote our friends over at HeatEatReview, "each little berry will suck all of the saliva out of your mouth."

Each pouch of Brothers All Natural Freeze Dried Fruit is one serving (15 grams or about 1/2 cup), and contains 30-70 calories, from the freeze dried Strawberries, which has 30 calories and 4 grams of sugar, to the Pineapple, which has 60 calories and 11 grams of sugar (couldn't find the nutrition facts for the Asian Pear). There is only about 1 gram of fiber, no fat (of course), and no artificial flavors or preservatives. In fact, the only ingredient is the fruit.

I have purchased these at regular supermarkets and at Whole Foods; they cost anywhere from 50 cents to $1.00 per pack. You can order in bulk (24 pouches) from Brothers All Natural website for $19.99.

Where can I get these they sound terrific

I got some at Costco or you can order them from the Brothers-All-Natural website. I disagree with the comment in the article "What you don't want to do is eat them straight from the bag", I LOVE them! It's almost like potato chip consistency - they are light and crunchy, but taste JUST like the fresh version.

I love these! I almost always eat them strait out of the bag, and I find the apple ones to be the best (but I don't like pineapples, so I haven't tried them). After the excellence of the fuji apple, I thought the pear was a little disappointment. But still very good. If you love fruit, in any form, I highly recommend these.

I liked these to so did my kids until I realized they are a product of china, I will not buy them now.

My 15 month old daughter loves to eat these straight out of the bag. They make a healthy treat! It's the only way she'll eat apples.

They have these at Disneyland now. These are a great snack for little ones without the mess.

I accidently ordered double and ended up with 8 boxes of 24 in each box. By the end of the day they were almost all gone and everyone in my office who purchased a box enjoyed them. They are a healthy snack. I first purchased them at
Costco and they were great but they do not carry the strawberry and banana. I did order rhe pineapple and find them very tasty.

We bought them yesterday at Costco for our 18 mos. granddaughter because she loved them so much after trying their samples. A healthy snack alternative!

these are sooooooo good I have not tried the pear but the apples are great

I had a problem that they were made in China. :/

Just Tomatoes has a variety of freeze dried fruits and veggies you can buy online and in bulk. Website: http://www.justtomatoes.com/

What's wrong with supporting China? Yes, it's great to support American products, but it's ok to support China too.

We are ONE world and these are delicious :)

These things are really really really good! I got a pack of the apples and pears from Costco. I loooove the apples. I don't see anything wrong with supporting China. Especially if the only ingredient is the fruit! *rolls eyes at all the people bent on continuing stereotypes*

I just love these, all of them so far, just ordered the peach and pineapple. I alreadt buy the others and the potato chips too...
